Las Vegas shut out Fresno on just two hits to earn its fifth win in its last six games and run its record to a league-best 14-3 on Saturday. RHP Daniel Mengden delivered an outstanding start, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 7 over 7 scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 3.00 and notch his 3rd victory for Las Vegas. RHP Miguel Romero pitched 2 perfect innings in relief to complete the shutout on Saturday. Designated hitter Corban Joseph had a big night at the plate, collecting 4 hits, including a pair of homers, while driving in 3 runs for the Aviators. First baseman Seth Brown belted his team-best 7th home run, doubled, singled and drove in a pair, while right fielder Skye Bolt tripled, doubled and drove in 3, and shortstop Jorge Mateo singled, doubled and drove in a run for Vegas in the victory.

Midland fell to Frisco in a walk-off for the second straight night on Saturday. RHP Brian Howard had his first rocky start of the season, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks over 5 frames, but he left the game with a four-run lead. RHP Trey Cochran-Gill gave up 2 runs in 1 inning of relief, while RHP Angel Duno permitted 2 runs over 2 frames, and RHP John Gorman allowed 1 unearned run in the bottom of the 10th to suffer the loss as Frisco won in a walk-off on Saturday. Center fielder Chase Calabuig had 2 hits, including a triple, and drove in a pair, while right fielder Greg Deichmann doubled, drew a walk and stole a base, and designated hitter Brallan Perez singled twice, walked and scored a run for the RockHounds.

Stockton suffered its third straight loss as Modesto completed the sweep of their three-game series on Saturday. RHP Mitchell Jordan had a rough start, surrendering 7 runs in just 3 innings of work to suffer his 2nd loss for Stockton. Shortstop Nick Allen singled and slugged in 2nd home run, while second baseman Jeremy Eierman doubled and scored a run, and catcher Jordan Devencenzi singled in a run for Stockton in the loss.

The Snappers snapped their three-game losing streak on Saturday. Last year’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Chase Cohen, turned in another solid start, allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits over 5 2/3 frames to earn his 3rd victory, while converted infielder Eric Marinez pitched 2 perfect innings in relief to pick up his 2nd save for the Snappers. Right fielder Payton Squier singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a pair and stole a base, while shortstop Marcos Brito collected 3 hits, and third baseman Cobie Vance doubled, drew a walk and scored a run for the Snappers on Saturday.
