With the bases loaded, two outs and the RockHounds up by a run in the top of the 3rd inning, center fielder Dairon Blanco stepped to the plate and slugged a grand slam to give Midland a big five-run lead that would prove too much for Amarillo to overcome on Wednesday. Blanco also singled, walked, stole a base and scored 3 times in the game. Catcher Collin Theroux clubbed a three-run homer and drew a pair of walks, while third baseman Edwin Diaz and first baseman Mikey White each doubled and drew a walk, and second baseman Brallan Perez singled twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds. RHP Brian Howard turned in another strong start, allowing 4 hits while throwing 5 scoreless frames to earn the victory for Midland.

The Aviators won their third straight on Wednesday to run their record to 6-1 this season. RHP Kyle Buchanan, who was signed as a minor league free agent in the offseason, turned in an outstanding start, allowing just 1 unearned run on 3 hits while striking out 6 over 6 innings to earn his 2nd victory for Las Vegas. RHP Andrew Triggs got two outs in the top of the 7th before exiting with the trainer, and no reports were immediately available on what caused his departure. RHP Ryan Dull replaced Triggs on the mound and tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to record the save for the Aviators. Center fielder Skye Bolt doubled in a run, drew a walk and stole a base, while third baseman Sheldon Neuse doubled and drew a walk. First baseman Seth Brown walked and singled in a run, and left fielder Mark Payton doubled in a run for Vegas in the victory. In other news, LHP Dean Kiekhefer landed on the 7-day injured list and RHP Joel Seddon was added to the roster on Wednesday.

Stockton suffered its sixth straight loss on Wednesday. Starter Mitchell Jordan allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 4 frames to take the loss. Second baseman Nick Allen had a pair of hits, including a double, while right fielder Mickey McDonald singled in a run, and shortstop Jeremy Eierman and designated hitter Hunter Hargrove each singled, walked and scored a run for Stockton.

Starter Bryce Nightengale allowed 1 unearned run on 4 hits and 4 walks in 3 1/3 innings of work on Wednesday, while his tandem-pitching partner, RHP Adam Reuss, gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, over 4 2/3 frames to suffer the loss for the Snappers. Center fielder Chase Calabuig collected a pair of hits, including a double, while left fielder Lester Madden singled in a run and drew a pair of walks, and right fielder Payton Squier doubled, drew a walk and stole a base for the Snappers in the loss.
