The Aviators notched a come-from-behind victory on Monday to take four out of five games from El Paso in the team’s season-opening series. Right fielder Dustin Fowler continued swinging a red-hot bat, belting a pair of two-run homers while also singling in the game to raise his batting average on the season to a hefty .522. Meanwhile, designated hitter Mark Payton homered for the fourth straight day, hitting a three-run shot, while center fielder Skye Bolt had a pair of hits, including a double, and drew a walk, and left fielder Tyler Ramirez singled twice and drove in a pair of runs, including the winning run in the top of the 9th for Las Vegas. RHP Tanner Anderson had rough start, allowing 9 runs, 7 earned, over 4 2/3 frames, but LHP Wei-Chung Wang was solid in relief, throwing 3 scoreless innings, and RHP Brian Schlitter notched the final four outs for Vegas to earn the victory.

The RockHounds registered a 10-inning win over Amarillo on Monday. Right fielder Greg Deichmann collected 3 hits, including a two-run homer in the 10th and an RBI single in the 4th, and he also stole a base in the game. Catcher Jonah Heim slugged a two-run homer and singled twice, while designated hitter Mikey White singled twice, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run. Second baseman Nate Mondou had 3 hits, and center fielder Luis Barrera singled in the winning run in the top of the 10th for the RockHounds. Starter Matt Milburn gave up 3 runs over 5 frames, while RHP Norge Ruiz allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief to tie the game, but RHP John Gorman tossed 2 scoreless innings to record the win for the RockHounds.

Stockton suffered its fourth straight loss on Monday. RHP Xavier Altamirano had a shaky start, surrendering 5 runs in just 3 innings of work to take the loss. Meanwhile, third baseman Jonah Bride homered in the 2nd inning to provide the Ports only run of the night.

The Snappers saw their three-game winning streak snapped on Monday. Last year’s 32nd-round draft pick for the A’s, catcher John Jones, had a big night at the plate, collecting 3 hits, including a two-run homer, while right fielder Nick Osborne slugged a three-run shot, and center fielder Lester Madden doubled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th for the Snappers. Starter Reid Birlingmair allowed 2 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHP Joe DeMers surrendered 3 runs over 3 1/3 frames. RHP Charlie Cerny gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief to tie the game, and RHP Brandon Withers allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, in the bottom of the 10th to take the loss as the Snappers suffered a walk-off loss on Monday.
