The A’s released their Fall Instructional League roster on Tuesday. Camp will open shortly at the A’s minor league facilities in Arizona, and games will begin on September 25 and continue through October 13.
23 pitchers, 29 position players and 17 rehabbing players are currently scheduled to attend. And some high-profile prospects like 19-year-old Cuban outfielder Lazaro Armenteros, 19-year-old shortstop Nick Allen and 22-year-old pitching prospect Grant Holmes will all be participating.
Also attending will be a number of the A’s top picks from this year’s draft, including catcher JJ Schwarz, outfielder Lawrence Butler, infielders Jeremy Eierman and Alfonso Rivas and pitchers Charlie Cerny, Chase Cohen and Clark Cota.
Among the rehabbing players will be a number of hurlers working their way back from Tommy John surgery, including Kendall Graveman, A.J. Puk, Daulton Jefferies and James Kaprielian.
It’s also interesting to note that Stockton infielder Eric Marinez, who made a pair of pitching appearances for the Ports this season, is now listed as a pitcher on the camp roster.
