The Ports prevailed over the Rawhide in extra innings on Sunday. Prior to the 10th inning, right fielder Greg Deichmann accounted for all of Stockton’s scoring in the game. Last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s homered in the 3rd inning and then again in the 7th, both times handing his team the lead. RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in his second straight strong start for Stockton, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings of work, and he left the game with a one-run lead. But LHP Andrew Tomasovich was charged with an unearned run to tie the game in the 8th. The game remained tied until the top of the 10th, when the team exploded for nine runs. Catcher Collin Theroux clubbed a three-run homer, while designated hitter Viosergy Rosa doubled in a pair in the frame, and RHP Trey Cochran-Gill tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win for the Ports.

With scheduled starter Daniel Mengden a last-minute scratch, LHP Danny Coulombe made his first career start and tossed 2 scoreless innings before giving way to RHP Ryan Dull, who allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to notch the win for Nashville. Center fielder Dustin Fowler had 2 hits, including a double, drew a walk and drove in a run and, in the process, ran his hitting streak to 9 games. Designated hitter Anthony Garcia singled, walked and drove in a pair of runs for the Sounds. Meanwhile, Nashville RHP Chris Bassitt was recalled by the A’s on Sunday.

The RockHounds won their fourth straight on Sunday. Center fielder Skye Bolt collected 3 hits and homered for the third straight night, while second baseman Eli White singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run. Right fielder J.P. Sportman singled twice and drove in 2 runs, including the tying run, while catcher Jason Goldstein homered and singled in the go-ahead run for the RockHounds. Starter Sam Bragg was charged with 2 unearned runs in 4 innings of work, while RHP Joel Seddon allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to record his 8th win for the RockHounds.

Starter Bryce Conley allowed 4 runs over 5 frames to suffer his 7th loss for the Snappers on Sunday. Second baseman Jesus Lage launched a two-run homer in the top of the 5th inning to account for all of Beloit’s scoring in the loss.

Vermont notched its second straight victory in extra innings on Sunday. Starter Jose Mora was charged with 6 runs in just 1/3 of an inning of work to put his team in an early hole, but the Lake Monsters battled back. Right fielder Nick Osborne drew a pair of walks and doubled in a run, while designated hitter Jonah Bride had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run. First baseman Aaron Arruda belted a three-homer, and shortstop Jeremy Eierman had 3 hits, stole a base and doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th as the Lake Monsters won in a walk-off. RHP Oscar Tovar allowed 1 unearned run in 3 innings of relief to earn the victory for Vermont. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Dominican RHP Richard Morban and this year’s 15th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Calvin Coker, were both added to the Lake Monsters roster on Sunday.

The AZL A’s went down to defeat in their final game of the season on Sunday. 19-year-old Dominican RHP Ismael Aquino made the start and allowed 1 run and walked 4 in 1 1/3 innings of work to suffer his 2nd loss for the A’s. 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz singled in the A’s sole run in the loss. The AZL A’s finished the season with a 14-13 record, while first baseman Gio Dingcong led the team with 5 home runs, and RHP Richard Morban, who was recently promoted to Vermont, led the team in wins (6), strikeouts (64) and ERA (1.92).
