Stockton lost its second straight on Friday, but starting pitcher Wyatt Marks turned in an impressive performance for the Ports. The 23-year-old allowed 1 run on just 3 hits while striking out 10 over 6 innings of work to lower his ERA to 2.12 after his first 3 starts for Stockton. RHP Trey Cochran-Gill was charged with 1 run in relief to tie the game, while LHP Andrew Tomasovich gave up the winning run in the top of the 9th to take the loss for Stockton. Catcher Santiago Chavez and designated hitter Brett Siddall both singled in runs, while shortstop Edwin Diaz doubled for the Ports’ only extra-base hit in the loss.

After winning 15 in a row, the Sounds dropped their third straight on Friday. LHP Eric Jokisch turned in a quality start for the Sounds, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on just 4 hits over 6 innings of work, but he still ended up taking his 10th loss. Relievers Jeremy Bleich, J.B. Wendelken and Danny Coulombe each tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief for Nashville. Third baseman Sheldon Neuse had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while catcher Bruce Maxwell drew a pair of walks and doubled in a run in the loss.

Catcher Jonah Heim led the RockHounds to a walk-off win on Friday. With the game tied in the bottom of the 9th, Heim singled in right fielder Luis Barrera from second base to secure the Hounds’ second straight win. Heim and Barrera each singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored a run in the game, while center fielder Skye Bolt doubled twice and drove in a run, and shortstop Eli White singled twice, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Ben Bracewell allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 7 innings of work and left with the game a 4-4 tie. RHP Joel Seddon tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to record the win for the RockHounds.

The Snappers went down to defeat in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader. Starter Ivan Andueza surrendered 5 runs over 4 1/3 frames to suffer his 9th loss for the Snappers. Second baseman Ryan Gridley singled and homered, while right fielder Mickey McDonald ripped a two-run homer. Center fielder Austin Beck singled, doubled and scored a run, and catcher Skyler Weber tripled in a run for the Snappers in the loss.

The Snappers notched a one-run win in the second game of Friday’s doubleheader to split the twinbill. Third baseman Miguel Mercedes doubled and drilled a two-run homer, while second baseman Ryan Gridley singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Snappers. This year’s 14th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Gus Varland, made the start and struck out 9 over 3 2/3 scoreless and hitless frames before turning things over to LHP Ty Damron, who tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. RHP Nick Highberger got the final six outs for the Snappers to secure his 4th save.

Friday’s game was suspended due to rain in the 5th inning with Staten Island holding a 7-1 lead. Starter Chase Cohen allowed 3 runs over 3 2/3 frames, while shortstop Jeremy Eierman singled twice and drove in a run for Vermont.
