The 24-year-old Cuban righty struck out 5 while throwing 7 shutout innings to earn his 4th win for Midland, while RHP John Gorman tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to complete the eight-hit shutout. Shortstop Eli White singled, doubled and drove in 2 runs, while center fielder Skye Bolt, first baseman Seth Brown and third baseman Nate Mondou had a pair of hits apiece for the RockHounds.

Starter Frankie Montas allowed 4 runs over 5 1/3 frames and notched his 4th win for Nashville.

The Ports hung on to prevail in a one-run victory over Lancaster on Tuesday. RHP Xavier Altamirano turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 run and striking out 8 over 5 frames to pick up his 4th win for the Ports, while RHP Trey Cochran-Gill secured his 2nd save for Stockton despite surrendering a pair of runs in the bottom of the 9th. First baseman Viosergy Rosa ripped a two-run homer and singled in a run, while third baseman Edwin Diaz slugged a solo shot and drew a pair of walks for the Ports.

Shortstop Nick Allen doubled, singled twice, scored twice and tallied his 22nd stolen base to tie him for the team lead, while first baseman Hunter Hargrove had 3 hits, swiped a base, drew a walk and drove in a pair for the Snappers.

This year’s 26th-round pick, RHP Leudeny Pineda, gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, in 2 innings of relief to suffer his 2nd loss for the A’s. This year’s 34th-round pick, second baseman Nick Ward, had 3 hits, including a triple, stole a base and drove in a run, while 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz doubled and drew a pair of walks in the loss.
