RHP Parker Dunshee turned in another impressive start to help the RockHounds win the final game of their three-game series with Arkansas on Sunday. In his fourth straight quality start, Dunshee allowed just 2 hits and struck out 9 while throwing 7 1/3 scoreless frames to record his 5th win for the RockHounds, and the 23-year-old has now given up just 2 earned runs in 26 1/3 innings over his last 4 starts for Midland. RHP Kyle Finnegan allowed 2 hits in 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to complete the four-hit shutout and secure his 8th save for the Hounds. Shortstop Richie Martin singled twice, drove in a run and tallied his team-leading 21st stolen base, while first baseman Seth Brown and second baseman Eli White each doubled and scored a run for the RockHounds.

The Sounds won in 10 innings on Sunday to extend their winning streak to 13 games. Left fielder Dustin Fowler had his fifth straight multi-hit game, collecting 3 hits, including 2 doubles, while driving in a pair and scoring 3 runs, and the 23-year-old has now gone 21 for 40 since his return to Nashville. Designated hitter Anthony Garcia singled twice, doubled and drove in 3, while shortstop Jorge Mateo singled in the tying run with two outs in the top of the 9th, and first baseman Steve Lombardozzi singled in the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the 10th. Starter Jesus Luzardo gave up 4 runs over 3 1/3 frames, while LHP Eric Jokisch allowed 2 runs in 4 1/3 innings of relief. RHP Ryan Dull threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win, and RHP Raul Alcantara picked up his 5th save despite allowing an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th for the Sounds. Meanwhile, A’s RHP Chris Hatcher cleared waivers and was sent to the Sounds on Sunday.

The Ports prevailed in the final game of their three-game series with San Jose on Sunday. Shortstop Edwin Diaz doubled in a pair of runs in the 1st inning to give the Ports an early lead. Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 2 runs over 4 2/3 frames and left with the game a 2-2 tie. First baseman Viosergy Rosa, who had doubled and scored a run in the 1st, drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 7th to bring home the winning run for Stockton. Second baseman Trace Loehr singled twice and scored the winning run, while right fielder Greg Deichmann collected a pair of hits, including a double, for the Ports. LHP Pat Krall tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, and RHP Angel Duno pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his team-leading 14th save for Stockton. In other news, the Ports’ adopted stray kitten, “Clubbie,” who calls the Stockton clubhouse home, is now reportedly helping Stockton skipper Rick Magnante fill out the lineup card…

The Snappers were shut out on seven hits on Sunday. RHP Mitchell Jordan turned in another solid start, allowing 2 runs over 5 frames, but he still ended up suffering the loss for the Snappers. First baseman Miguel Mercedes collected a pair of hits, while designated hitter Hunter Hargrove singled and walked, and center fielder Austin Beck doubled for Beloit’s only extra-base hit in the loss.

The Lake Monsters lost their third straight on Sunday. Last year’s 29th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Adam Reuss, made the start and allowed 3 runs over 5 frames to suffer his 2nd loss for the Lake Monsters. This year’s 4th-round pick, designated hitter Alfonso Rivas, collected 3 hits and drew a walk, while 20-year-old Venezuelan catcher Jose Rivas had 2 hits, including a double, and scored a run in the loss.
