RHP Chris Bassitt turned in an outstanding start to help the Sounds win their sixth straight on Saturday. Bassitt allowed 1 run on just 3 hits while striking out 6 over 8 innings of work to earn his 4th win, while RHP Josh Lucas pitched a perfect 9th to notch his 4th save for Nashville. Right fielder Boog Powell had 2 hits, including a double, drove in a run and stole a base, while catcher Bruce Maxwell and third baseman Sheldon Neuse both doubled in runs for the Sounds on Saturday.

The RockHounds suffered an extra-inning loss to San Antonio on Saturday. Starter Ben Bracewell allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work, and he left the game with the lead. RHP Miguel Romero pitched 2 perfect innings in relief, but RHP Corey Walter gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th to tie the game and was charged with 3 more runs in the top of the 10th to take the loss. Center fielder Skye Bolt homered for the second straight night, slugging a tie-breaking two-run shot in the bottom of the 4th, while left fielder Tyler Ramirez had a pair of hits, drew a walk and drove in 2 runs. Shortstop Eli White singled twice, walked and scored twice, and second baseman Richie Martin had 2 hits, drew a walk and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Stockton won its third straight on Saturday. LHP Zack Erwin turned in a solid start, allowing just 1 run and striking out 6 over 5 2/3 frames but, when he left the game, Stockton was still scoreless. Designated hitter Santiago Chavez, who had 3 hits in the game, singled in the tying run in the 7th, and second baseman Trace Loehr singled in the winning run in the top of the 10th for Stockton. RHP Angel Duno pitched 2 perfect innings in relief to pick up his 4th win for the Ports.

The Snappers won for the fourth time in their last five games on Saturday. Right fielder Jack Meggs homered and singled in a run, while third baseman Jesus Lage hit a two-run homer, and first baseman Miguel Mercedes singled twice and drove in a run for the Snappers. Starter Ivan Andueza allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work, while RHP Nick Highberger tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Seth Martinez got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his team-leading 13th save for the Snappers. Meanwhile, Beloit RHP Wandisson Charles was placed on the disabled list, while LHP Josh Reagan and RHP Jaimito Lebron were sent to the Lake Monsters, and RHPs Brady Feigl and Gus Varland and LHP Jhenderson Hurtado were all added to the Snappers roster on Saturday.

Vermont won its third straight on Saturday to sweep its three-game series with Hudson Valley. 21-year-old Dominican RHP Rafael Kelly turned in his fourth straight strong start, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits and striking out 5 over 5 frames to earn his 4th win, while RHP Slater Lee tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to post his 4th save for the Lake Monsters. This year’s third overall draft pick for the A’s, shortstop Jeremy Eierman, doubled and hit his team-leading 6th home run, while 12th-round pick, center fielder Noah Vaughan, singled twice, stole a base and drove in a run for Vermont.

This year’s 19th-round draft pick for the A’s, catcher Matt Cross, collected 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, while 17-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice, and this year’s 6th-round pick, designated hitter Lawrence Butler, singled twice and drove in a pair. Last year’s 20th-round pick, 18-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios, made the start and tossed 2 scoreless innings, while this year’s 21st-round pick, RHP Daniel Martinez, allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief to pick up the win, and 21-year-old Venezuelan RHP Jesus Monserratt got the final two outs in the 9th to notch his 2nd save for the A’s.
