Second baseman Eli White continued his hot hitting, but the RockHounds still went down to defeat in extra innings to suffer their fourth straight loss on Saturday. White keyed the RockHounds offense, contributing a single, a double and a home run while also drawing a walk and scoring twice. The 24-year-old is now 13 for 21 with 6 walks and 4 extra-base hits over his last 6 games, and he leads the team in both hits and walks while boasting team bests with a .320 batting average and a .409 on-base percentage. First baseman Seth Brown singled, doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds in the loss. Starter Parker Dunshee surrendered 4 runs and struck out 7 over 8 innings of work, while RHP Kyle Finnegan gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th to take the loss as Springfield won in a walk-off on Saturday.

A’s RHP Trevor Cahill turned in a strong start in his rehab appearance for the Sounds. The 30-year-old struck out 7 while throwing 4 scoreless frames on Saturday. RHP Liam Hendriks was charged with 2 runs in 2/3 of an inning of relief, while RHP Norge Ruiz allowed 1 run over 3 innings to earn the win, and RHP J.B. Wendelken pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his 2nd save for the Sounds. Right fielder Ramon Laureano led off the bottom of the 1st inning by ripping a solo homer, while second baseman Franklin Barreto belted a two-run blast later in the same frame, and third baseman Sheldon Neuse slugged a solo shot in the 7th. And with Oakland outfielder Matt Joyce landing on the disabled list, Nashville’s Nick Martini was recalled by the A’s on Saturday.

Stockton dropped its third straight to the 66ers on Saturday. Starter Zack Erwin surrendered 4 runs over 6 frames to suffer his 6th loss for Stockton. Second baseman Trace Loehr doubled with two outs in the top of the 8th inning to plate first baseman Sandber Pimentel and provide the Ports’ sole run in the loss.

The Snappers won their fourth straight on Saturday. After collecting 4 hits on Friday, first baseman Hunter Hargrove had 3 hits, scored twice, drove in a run and was hit by a pitch on Saturday, and the 23-year-old is now 8 for 12 over his last 3 games for the Snappers. Catcher Skyler Weber also had 3 hits and drove in a run, while third baseman Jesus Lopez singled twice, walked and drove in a pair for Beloit. Starter Ivan Andueza picked up the win despite surrendering 4 runs over 5 1/3 frames for the Snappers.

The Lake Monsters suffered their third straight loss on Saturday. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Jose Mora made the start and surrendered 4 runs, 2 earned, and struck out 7 over 4 1/3 frames to take the loss. This year’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Chase Cohen, gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in 1 inning of relief, and last year’s 31st-round pick, RHP Brandon Withers, threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings for Vermont. This year’s third overall pick for the A’s, shortstop Jeremy Eierman, tripled in a run, and 18-year-old Dominican second baseman Marcos Brito singled in a run for the Lake Monsters in the loss.
