Stockton shut out San Jose on seven hits to win its fourth straight on Wednesday. Starter Matt Milburn led the way and was outstanding, striking out 6 while walking none over 7 shutout innings to pick up his 3rd win for the Ports. LHP Will Gilbert tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief, and RHP Angel Duno got the final three outs to close out the shutout for Stockton. Catcher Jason Goldstein delivered the big blow of the night. With Stockton up by a run in the bottom of the 5th inning, Goldstein came to the plate with the bases loaded and slugged a grand slam. Right fielder Luke Persico had 3 hits, while second baseman Nate Mondou singled, walked and drove in a pair. Center fielder Luis Barrera singled twice, and left fielder Boog Powell went 0 for 2 with a pair of walks in his third rehab appearance with the Ports. Meanwhile, Ports pitchers Parker Dunshee and Miguel Romero were both reassigned to the RockHounds on Wednesday.

The Sounds squandered an early lead to suffer their fourth straight loss on Wednesday. Right fielder Ramon Laureano had a big night at the plate, notching 4 hits, including 3 doubles, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice for the Sounds. Laureano drove in a run and scored the tying run in the top of 9th and then threw out former A’s farmhand Dusty Coleman at the plate in the bottom of the 9th. First baseman Nick Martini also had a big game, collecting 3 hits, including a home run and a double, to extend his hitting streak to 15 games and his on-base streak to 46 games. Starter Ben Bracewell was charged with 4 runs, 3 earned, over 4 frames, while RHP Jake Sanchez gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief, and RHP Bobby Wahl walked 3 and surrendered the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to suffer his 2nd loss as El Paso won in a walk-off. Meanwhile, Sounds RHP Jarret Martin was reassigned to the RockHounds on Wednesday.

Starter Norge Ruiz allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work, while LHP Jarret Martin, who was reassigned to the RockHounds from the Sounds on Wednesday, gave up 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief to suffer his 2nd loss for Midland. Shortstop Richie Martin continued his hot hitting, collecting 2 hits, including a triple, to raise his batting average to .330, while right fielder Tyler Marincov singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Ports pitchers Parker Dunshee and Miguel Romero were reassigned to the RockHounds, while Midland pitchers Cody Stull and Joseph Camacho were both placed on the disabled list. And in others news, LHP Jesus Luzardo, catcher Sean Murphy, outfielder Tyler Ramirez and infielders Eli White and J.P. Sportman were all named Texas League All-Stars on Wednesday.

Beloit prevailed to take their second straight from Peoria on Wednesday. Starter Bryce Conley was charged with 3 runs in just 2 2/3 innings of work, while LHP Josh Reagan threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. And while holding on to a slim one-run lead, LHP Ivan Andueza was excellent in relief, tossing 5 scoreless frames to secure his 1st save for the Snappers. First baseman Jack Meggs had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while third baseman Jesus Lopez singled twice and drove in a run. Designated hitter Logan Farrar singled and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and left fielder JaVon Shelby went 0 for 4 with 4 strikeouts and is now 1 for 21 with 13 strikeouts since his return to the Snappers.
