The Ports prevailed for the third time in their last four games on Sunday to run their league-best record to 30-20. Catcher Collin Theroux tripled with the bases loaded in the top of the 4th inning to drive in 3 runs, including the tying run, and then came in to score the go-ahead run later in the same inning. Theroux also singled and walked in the game, while shortstop Kevin Merrell had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in 2 runs, and second baseman Nate Mondou singled twice and drove in a pair for the Ports. Stockton starter Zack Erwin allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 6 innings of work to earn his 4th win, while RHP Miguel Romero pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his team-leading 10th save for the Ports.

After struggling for much of the season with Midland, RHP Kyle Friedrichs turned in a solid start in his Triple-A debut for the Sounds on Sunday. The 26-year-old held Oklahoma City scoreless through the first 5 frames and exited after putting two men on with two outs in the top of the 6th. RHP Raul Alcantara entered in relief but surrendered 3 straight singles to allow 3 runs to score, 2 of which were charged to Friedrichs, who ended up suffering the loss. First baseman Nick Martini singled twice, drove in a run and stole a base and extended his on-base streak to 37 consecutive games. Second baseman Melvin Mercedes tripled and scored a run, while catcher Josh Phegley doubled, and shortstop Jorge Mateo singled, drove in a run and notched his team-leading 11th stolen base for Nashville. Meanwhile, RHP Frankie Montas was recalled by Oakland, and the A’s sent RHP Chris Bassitt back to the Sounds on Sunday.

The RockHounds won for the fourth time in their last five games on Sunday to run their record to an even .500. Second baseman Eli White got things started by slugging a two-run homer in the top of the 1st, drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the 3rd, then walked and scored a run in the 5th. Right fielder J.P. Sportman singled, doubled, walked, stole a base and scored twice, while third baseman Mikey White and center fielder Brett Vertigan had a pair of hits apiece, and shortstop Richie Martin and first baseman Seth Brown both doubled in runs for the RockHounds. Starter Norge Ruiz allowed 4 runs over 5 2/3 frames and picked up his 3rd win, while RHP Nolan Blackwood got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 5th save for Midland.

The Snappers were shut out on just five hits on Sunday. Right fielder Jack Meggs collected 2 hits, including a double, while center fielder Austin Beck, third baseman Jesus Lopez and catcher Jordan Devencenzi all singled in the loss. Starter Ivan Andueza surrendered 7 runs in just 2 2/3 innings of work to suffer his 2nd loss for the Snappers.
