With two outs, the bases loaded and the game tied in the top of the 5th, center fielder Skye Bolt stepped to the plate and slugged a grand slam to give Stockton a lead it would never surrender on Friday. Bolt’s blast lifted his team-best slugging percentage to .480, while left fielder Dairon Blanco singled, doubled and scored twice to raise his batting average to .281. Right fielder Luis Barrera walked, stole a base and singled in a run, and third baseman Edwin Diaz doubled and drove in a pair for the Ports. Starter Parker Dunshee allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 7 innings of work to earn his 3rd win for Stockton.

RHP James Naile had a rare rocky start for the Sounds, allowing 4 runs over just 3 1/3 frames to suffer the loss on Friday. RHP J.B. Wendelken threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out 5, while LHP Dean Kiekhefer struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings of relief for the Sounds. First baseman Nick Martini had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while catcher Josh Phegley doubled in the team’s only other run in the loss.

The RockHounds had their biggest offensive outburst of the past few weeks on Friday, scoring 11 runs on 19 hits to notch an easy win against Northwest Arkansas. Shortstop Eli White had a big night at the plate, collecting 4 hits, including a triple and a double, and drove in 3 runs for the RockHounds. Left fielder Tyler Ramirez had almost the same line as White, tripling, doubling and singling twice while driving in a single run for the Hounds. Right fielder Tyler Marincov homered, doubled and drove in a pair, while center fielder J.P. Sportman had 2 hits and stole a base, and catcher Sean Murphy singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. LHP Jesus Luzardo turned in his second straight solid start, allowing just 1 run over 5 frames to earn his 2nd win for Midland.

Left fielder Lazaro Armenteros had 2 hits for the second straight night and drove in his team’s sole run as Beloit was bested by Burlington on Friday. Armenteros is now 5 for 12 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs over his last 3 games for the Snappers. Starter Jared Poche allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work to suffer his 3rd loss, while RHP Bryce Conley gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief for Beloit.
