Prospect Of The Game:
Pitcher Brian Howard
(7 2/3 IP / 2 H / 0 ER / 1 BB / 9 K)

LHP Will Gilbert, who hadn’t allowed a run in 13 2/3 innings of relief for Stockton this season, notched the final out in the 8th but then surrendered 4 runs in the 9th to suffer the loss on Sunday. Third baseman Edwin Diaz doubled, walked and scored a run, while designated hitter Jonah Heim and center fielder Skye Bolt both singled and walked, and shortstop Kevin Merrell singled in Stockton’s sole run in the loss. In other news, Stockton starter Matt Milburn was reassigned to the Sounds on Sunday.
