First baseman Nick Martini had a big night at the plate to help the Sounds prevail and move two games over .500 on Friday. Martini slugged a solo homer in the 3rd inning and then belted a three-run blast in the 6th. He also singled and walked in the game, and the free agent signee is now 15 for 36 with 6 walks, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs over his last 9 games, and he extended his consecutive on-base streak to 28 games on Friday. Center fielder Jake Smolinski collected 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run for Nashville. Starter Kendall Graveman gave up 2 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings of work to earn his 2nd win for the Sounds. Meanwhile, the A’s recalled RHPs Emilio Pagan and Josh Lucas and optioned RHP Ryan Dull to Nashville on Friday.

The RockHounds snapped their three-game losing streak to move back to a game over .500 on Friday. First baseman Seth Brown had a three-run homer and an RBI single and also drew a walk, while third baseman Eli White collected 3 hits and scored twice. Center fielder Tyler Ramirez singled twice, walked twice and drove in a run, and left fielder Brett Siddall singled in the tying and go-ahead runs in the 7th inning for Midland. RHP Corey Walter had his second straight rough start for the RockHounds, surrendering 5 runs on 14 hits over 5 2/3 frames, while RHP John Gorman picked up the win despite giving up 2 runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief, and LHP Dean Kiekhefer got the final three outs to record his 3rd save for the RockHounds.

The Ports prevailed in 10 innings to improve their league-best record to 26-16 on Friday. RHP Logan Shore turned in his fourth straight strong start for Stockton, striking out 7 over 6 1/3 scoreless innings, and he left the game with a one-run lead. RHP Angel Duno surrendered the tying run in the top of the 9th, and RHP Sam Sheehan picked up the win despite allowing an unearned run in the top of the 10th. First baseman Luke Persico walked and singled in Stockton’s first run, while designated hitter Brallan Perez singled in the tying run with one out in the 10th, and second baseman Nate Mondou singled twice and drove in the winning run with two outs in the 10th for the Ports.

The Snappers came up short and suffered a one-run loss on Friday. Starter Josh Reagan threw 3 scoreless frames, but RHP Wyatt Marks surrendered 3 runs in 6 innings of work to suffer his 3rd loss for the Snappers. Center fielder Austin Beck singled, doubled, walked and drove in a run, while first baseman Hunter Hargrove doubled twice, and third baseman Jesus Lopez had 2 hits, including a double, and drew a walk in the loss.
