RHP Ben Bracewell turned in is third straight outstanding start to help the RockHounds kick off their eight-game homestand with a win on Monday. The 27-year-old allowed just 3 hits and struck out 5 over 7 1/3 shutout innings to earn his 3rd win and extend his scoreless-innings streak to 15 1/3 frames. Bracewell currently boasts the best ERA (2.41) and WHIP (0.90) among all of Midland’s starters. Center fielder Tyler Ramirez had a big night at the plate, collecting his 4th home run and his 12th double while driving in 3 runs. Third baseman Eli White singled, doubled and scored a run, while first baseman Seth Brown had 2 hits, including a triple, and drove in a pair, and shortstop Richie Martin singled twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

RHP Frankie Montas put together his third straight strong start but still ended up being saddled with the loss as the Sounds had their four-game winning streak snapped by division-leading Memphis on Monday. Montas allowed 2 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings of work to notch his first complete game for Nashville, and the 25-year-old has now given up just 4 earned runs over his last 20 innings to lower his ERA to 3.75. Right fielder Anthony Garcia slugged his team-leading 7th home run to account for all of the Sounds’ scoring in the loss.

Left fielder Dairon Blanco led Stockton to its third win in its last four games as the Ports took back sole possession of first place in their division on Monday. The 25-year-old Cuban import collected 4 hits, including a double, drove in 3 runs and tallied his team-leading 9th stolen base for Stockton. Center fielder Skye Bolt doubled and walked twice, while second baseman Nate Mondou had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Ports. Starter Brian Howard allowed 4 runs over 6 innings of work to pick up his 4th win, while RHP Miguel Romero struck out the side in order in the 9th to secure his 7th save for Stockton.

The Snappers suffered their fifth straight loss on Monday to retain sole possession of last place in the eight-team Midwest League Western Division. RHP Xavier Altamirano endured his shakiest start of the season, allowing 8 runs over 5 2/3 frames to take his 2nd loss for the Snappers. Catcher Jordan Devencenzi clubbed his 1st home run of the season, while first baseman Hunter Hargrove, third baseman Jesus Lopez and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros collected a pair of hits apiece in the loss.
