With two men on and the game tied in the bottom of the 9th, shortstop Jorge Mateo stepped to the plate and laced a single to right field to drive home the winning run as the RockHounds won in a walk-off to notch their fifth straight victory on Friday. Mateo also doubled in a run in the 2nd and hit a 2-run homer in the 4th for the Hounds. Designated hitter Tyler Marincov singled, doubled and drove in 2 runs, while second baseman Max Schrock and left fielder Tyler Ramirez had a pair of hits apiece for Midland. Starter Casey Meisner allowed 1 run in 4 innings of work, while RHP Tyler Sturdevant picked up the win despite giving up 3 runs, 2 earned, in 1 inning of relief for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, Midland RHP Dustin Hurlbutt landed on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain and RHP Kyle Finnegan was reassigned to the RockHounds from the Sounds on Friday.

Three home runs helped Nashville notch a one-run win in a see-saw affair against Memphis on Friday. Center fielder Jaff Decker collected 3 hits, including a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning to give the Sounds the lead, while catcher Beau Taylor belted a 2-run blast in the 5th to reclaim the lead. Left fielder Renato Nunez singled in a run in the 5th and slugged a 2-run shot in the 7th, his league-leading 32nd of the season, and right fielder Mark Canha doubled, singled twice and scored twice for the Sounds. Starter Chris Jensen allowed 5 runs over 4 innings of work, while LHP Sam Moll threw 2/3 of an inning of scoreless relief in his Nashville debut. RHP Chris Bassitt tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win, and RHP Josh Smith picked up the save in his return to the Sounds. Meanwhile, RHP Zach Neal cleared waivers and was outrighted back to Nashville and Sounds RHP Kyle Finnegan was reassigned to the RockHounds on Friday.

With two outs, a man on and the game tied in the top of the 9th, left fielder Luis Barrera singled to left to drive home the winning run for Stockton on Friday. Barrera also singled and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly, while center fielder Eli White singled, doubled, stole a base and scored the winning run, and shortstop Richie Martin and designated hitter Brett Siddall had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. Starter Logan Shore allowed 3 runs and struck out 7 in 6 1/3 innings of work, while LHP Evan Manarino tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, and RHP Nolan Blackwood got the final three outs to secure his 17th save for Stockton.

The Snappers came up short in a one-run contest to suffer their sixth loss in their last seven games on Friday. LHP Zack Erwin turned in another strong start, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 6 2/3 innings of work, but he still ended up being saddled with his 4th loss. Third baseman J.C. Rodriguez singled and doubled for Beloit’s only extra-base hit in the loss.

19-year-old Venezuelan second baseman Jesus Lage singled, doubled twice and drove in a run, while right fielder Anthony Churlin had 3 hits, including a triple, and center fielder Mickey McDonald singled in a run to help the Lake Monsters win their fourth straight on Friday. Starter Brian Howard pitched 3 perfect innings, while RHP Wyatt Marks threw 3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, and LHP Logan Salow got the final three outs to secure his 1st save for the Lake Monsters.

17-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios made the start and allowed 5 runs in just 1 2/3 innings of work to suffer his 5th loss on Friday. Designated hitter Jake Lumley singled, doubled and drove in a run, while shortstop Nick Allen collected 3 hits, and third baseman Marcos Brito had a pair of hits, including a double, for the A’s in the loss.
