The 22-year-old allowed just 3 hits while striking out 6 over 7 shutout innings to earn his 4th win for the RockHounds, and he’s now failed to allow a run over his last 14 frames for the Hounds. LHP Brandon Mann and RHP Carlos Navas each contributed a scoreless inning in relief to complete the 3-hit shutout on Sunday. First baseman Viosergy Rosa singled, tripled and walked, while center fielder B.J. Boyd had 3 hits, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Renato Nunez homered in his third straight game to help the Sounds win their third straight on Sunday. Nunez’s blast with two outs in the top of the 4th tied the game. His 30 home runs are the most in the minor leagues, and he’s now gone 7 for 14 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs over his last 4 games for Nashville. Third baseman Joey Wendle singled, tripled and drove in a run, and starter Zach Neal allowed 3 runs over 5 2/3 frames to earn his 2nd win for the Sounds.

RHP Xavier Altamirano had a rare rough start for the Snappers, allowing 5 runs over 2 2/3 innings of work on Sunday. RHP Heath Bowers was solid in relief, throwing 4 1/3 scoreless frames, but LHP Ty Damron surrendered the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to suffer the loss as the Snappers dropped their third straight. Designated hitter Miguel Mercedes had 2 hits and drove in a run, while center fielder Mike Martin singled twice and stole a base, and right fielder JaVon Shelby walked and singled in a pair of runs to tie the game in the top of the 9th for the Snappers.

This year’s 8th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brian Howard, threw 3 scoreless innings in relief to secure his 1st save for the Lake Monsters. Left fielder Payton Squier singled, tripled and drove in 3 runs, while center fielder Logan Farrar walked, stole a base, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for Vermont.

Starter Richard Jose Morban allowed 4 runs over 3 1/3 frames, while RHP Brandon Withers gave up 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief to suffer his 2nd loss on Sunday.
