Center fielder B.J. Boyd had a big game in the second of Midland’s two matches on Sunday. The 24-year-old had 3 hits, including a home run, drew a walk and drove in 4 runs for the RockHounds. Shortstop Richie Martin singled twice and drove in a pair, while first baseman Viosergy Rosa hit his team-leading 13th home run and drove in 3. Second baseman Branden Cogswell singled, doubled, walked and scored twice, and catcher Sean Murphy and left fielder Tyler Ramirez had a pair of hits apiece for the Hounds. After struggling in his last outing, LHP A.J. Puk turned in a strong start for Midland, allowing 1 run on just 3 hits and striking out 5 over 5 innings of work to earn the win as the RockHounds completed the sweep of Sunday’s doubleheader.

The Ports tied the game in the bottom of the 9th on Sunday and then went on to win it in a walk-off in the 10th. Left fielder Brett Siddall had a big day at the plate, collecting 4 hits, including his team-leading 15th home run, while driving in 3 runs. Right fielder Seth Brown had 3 hits and drove in a run, while designated hitter Sandber Pimentel socked a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning. First baseman Mikey White slugged a grand slam in the 6th to give Stockton the lead, and shortstop Eli White had 3 hits and drove in a pair of runs, including the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to help Stockton win in a walk-off on Sunday. Starter Miguel Romero allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 3 1/3 innings of work, while rehabbing RHP Bobby Wahl walked a pair but struck out the side in the 5th. RHP Brendan Butler surrendered 6 runs over 4 frames, and RHP Armando Ruiz got the final three outs in the top of the 10th to pick up the win for the Ports.

The Snappers shut out South Bend on just 2 hits to win their third straight on Sunday. Starter Zack Erwin allowed 2 hits over 4 scoreless frames. He was replaced on the mound by RHP Seth Martinez, who pitched 5 perfect innings in relief to earn his 3rd win for the Snappers. Designated hitter Kyle Nowlin singled, homered, drew a pair of walks and scored twice, while third baseman Trace Loehr had a pair of hits, including a home run, and second baseman J.C. Rodriguez homered and walked for the Snappers.

This year’s 6th-round draft pick for the A’s, LHP Logan Salow, gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief, and RHP Marc Berube surrendered the winning run in the top of the 9th to take the loss on Sunday. This year’s 2nd-round pick, designated hitter Greg Deichmann, had 2 hits, including a triple, and drove in a run, while 11th-round shortstop Ryan Gridley walked and doubled in a run, and 19-year-old Venezuelan second baseman Jesus Lage singled twice and drove in a run in the loss.
