RHP Chris Jensen turned in a strong start to help the Sounds win their third straight on Friday. The 26-year-old allowed just 1 unearned run over 6 innings of work to notch his 5th win for Nashville. Rehabbing RHP Ryan Dull pitched a perfect frame in the 7th, while RHP Tucker Healy gave up 4 runs in just 2/3 of an inning of relief, and LHP Patrick Schuster got the final out to secure his 1st save of the season. Sounds hitters slugged four home runs, all solo shots. Shortstop Franklin Barreto blasted his 11th in the 1st, while catcher Ryan Lavarnway clubbed his 6th in the 3rd. Rehabbing second baseman Chad Pinder belted his 1st in the 6th, and left fielder Yairo Munoz smacked his 4th in the 7th. Munoz also singled and stole a base for the Sounds. Meanwhile, RHP Frankie Montas and first baseman Matt Olson were both recalled by the A’s, while first baseman Chris Carter was signed to a minor league deal and sent to Nashville, and infielder Melvin Mercedes was reassigned to the Sounds roster on Friday.

The RockHounds came back to claim victory and snap their three-game skid on Friday. First baseman Viosergy Rosa singled in a run in the 5th inning and doubled with the bases loaded in the 7th to bring home both the tying and winning runs and extend his league-leading RBI total to 73. Third baseman Jordan Tarsovich collected 3 hits and walked twice, while second baseman Max Schrock had 2 hits, including a double, and center fielder B.J. Boyd had a pair of hits for Midland. RHP Casey Meisner had a rocky start for the RockHounds, allowing 5 runs in just 3 innings of work, while LHP Cody Stull threw 3 scoreless innings in relief. RHP Carlos Navas pitched 2 perfect frames to earn the win, and RHP Sam Bragg got the final three outs to record his 3rd save for the RockHounds.

Stockton suffered its sixth loss in its last seven games on Friday. RHP Logan Shore had a rough time in his return from the disabled list. After tossing a scoreless 1st inning, Shore couldn’t survive the 2nd, and the 22-year-old ended up surrendering 7 runs on 8 hits in just 1 2/3 innings off work to take the loss for Stockton. LHP Dalton Sawyer allowed just 1 run in 4 2/3 innings of relief, while shortstop Sheldon Neuse collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair, and third baseman Mikey White walked and hit a 2-run homer for the Ports.

A solid outing by LHP Ivan Andueza helped the Lake Monsters snap their four-game losing streak on Friday. This year’s 8th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brian Howard, made the start and allowed 1 unearned run in 2 innings of work and left with his team down by a run. But Andueza replaced him on the mound and threw 6 shutout innings and ended up earning his 5th victory when Vermont put four runs on the board in the 7th inning. Shortstop Kevin Merrell had a pair of hits and drove in a run, while third baseman Will Toffey singled in a pair, and catcher Iolana Akau singled and drove in a run. RHP Wandisson Charles got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 3rd save for the Lake Monsters.
