This year’s 8th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brian Howard, made the start and gave up 1 run in 3 innings of work, while 22-year-old Venezuelan LHP Ivan Andueza allowed 2 runs in 6 innings of relief to earn his 4th win for the Lake Monsters. 12th-round first baseman Aaron Arruda homered, singled and drove in a pair, while 36th-round left fielder Logan Farrar singled, walked, doubled in a run and scored twice, and catcher Iolana Akau had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Lake Monsters. Meanwhile, Vermont catcher Roger Gonzalez was released and this year’s 15th-round pick, LHP Josh Reagan, was promoted to the Lake Monsters from the AZL A’s on Sunday.
