Third baseman Trace Loehr came a home run short of a cycle for the second straight night to help the Snappers win their third straight on Thursday. Loehr had 4 hits, including a triple and a double, while driving in a pair of runs, and the 22-year-old has now gone 10 for 20 over his last 4 games for Beloit. Second baseman Jesus Lopez singled twice and drove in a run, while designated hitter Jason Goldstein had 2 hits and drove in a pair, and left fielder Josh Vidales singled twice, walked twice and scored twice for the Snappers. Starter Kyle Twomey allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 5 innings of work, while RHP Jesus Zambrano gave up 3 runs in 2 innings of relief, and RHP Yordys Alejo pitched 2 perfect innings to pick up his 3rd win for Beloit.

RHP Ben Bracewell had his second straight quality start for the Sounds, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits over 6 innings of work to notch his 1st win for Nashville on Thursday. Felix Doubront, Lou Trivino and Kyle Finnegan each tossed 1 scoreless inning of relief for the Sounds. First baseman Matt Olson singled and slugged a 2-run homer, while right fielder Mark Canha singled, doubled twice and drove in a pair. Left fielder Kenny Wilson tripled with the bases loaded in the 9th to drive in 3, and second baseman Joey Wendle singled, walked and notched his 95th career double for Nashville to make him the franchise’s all-time doubles leader.

23-year-old Cuban RHP Norge Ruiz turned in a strong start for Stockton, striking out 8 over 6 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win for the Ports. Right fielder Brett Siddall singled, homered and drove in 3 runs, while second baseman Nate Mondou walked, homered and drove in a pair, and left fielder Luis Barrera and first baseman Sandber Pimentel had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.

18-year-old Panamanian RHP Abdiel Mendoza threw 7 shutout innings in his second straight start to help Vermont notch its eighth victory in its last ten games on Thursday. Mendoza gave up just 3 hits while striking out 5, and he’s now allowed just 7 hits and struck out 12 in 14 scoreless frames over his last 2 starts for the Lake Monsters. This year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, right fielder Greg Deichmann, singled, homered and stole a base, while 36th-round left fielder Logan Farrar hit a 2-run homer to help Vermont claim victory on Thursday.
