Five home runs helped the RockHounds put 12 runs on the board in Wednesday’s win. Right fielder Tyler Marincov led the attack, hitting a 3-run homer in the 4th, then following up with solo shots in his next two at-bats in the 6th and the 8th. First baseman Viosergy Rosa singled, drew 3 walks, and hit a 2-run homer in the 1st, while catcher Argenis Raga slugged a 2-run shot in the 2nd, and second baseman Max Schrock doubled, singled twice, walked and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Third baseman Yairo Munoz went 1 for 5 and scored a run in his season debut after returning from the disabled list and, after a stint with the Sounds, shortstop Melvin Mercedes singled and walked in his return to the RockHounds. Starter James Naile gave up 3 runs in 2 2/3 innings of work, while his tandem-starting mate, RHP Grant Holmes, allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 6 over 4 scoreless frames to earn his 2nd win for Midland. And with Munoz and Mercedes returning to the RockHounds roster, RHP Jesus Zambrano was reassigned to the Snappers and infielder Jean Carlo Rodriguez was sent back to extended spring training in Arizona.

Designated hitter Renato Nunez doubled, walked and homered in his fourth straight game on Wednesday, while second baseman Joey Wendle homered in his second straight match. Shortstop Franklin Barreto collected 3 singles to raise his season average to .372, and center fielder Jaycob Brugman went 2 for 4 in his season debut for the Sounds after returning from the disabled list. RHP Paul Blackburn had his first shaky start of the season, allowing 5 runs over 4 2/3 innings to suffer his 3rd loss as the Sounds snapped their five-game winning streak. And with LHP Sean Doolittle landing on the disabled list and RHP Cesar Valdez designated for assignment, Nashville RHPs Bobby Wahl and Josh Smith were added to the A’s roster on Wednesday.

Starter Logan Shore allowed 3 runs in 3 innings of work to suffer his 2nd loss for Stockton, while his tandem-pitching partner, RHP Angel Duno, also gave up 3 runs over 3 frames. LHPs Andrew Tomasovich and Will Gilbert both made their debuts for the Ports after being promoted from the Snappers, with Tomasovich striking out 2 in 1 scoreless inning and Gilbert giving up 1 run in 1 inning of relief on Wednesday. Center fielder Skye Bolt and first baseman Chris Iriart both singled, doubled and drove in a run, while designated hitter Mikey White tripled in a run and stole a base in the loss. Meanwhile, A’s RHP Chris Bassitt is set to make his second rehab start for Stockton on Thursday.

Starter Matt Milburn allowed just 1 run over 4 innings of work on Wednesday, while RHP Brandon Bailey turned in another strong outing, striking out 4 over 4 scoreless frames to earn the win for the Snappers. And Bailey has now surrendered just 1 run while striking out 13 over his last 11 innings of work for Beloit. RHP Yordy Alejo was charged with 1 unearned run in 1 inning of relief in his season debut for the Snappers. Designated hitter Kyle Nowlin collected 3 hits, including a home run, and drove in 3 runs, while catcher Collin Theroux clubbed a 3-run shot, and shortstop Eric Marinez singled, tripled and drove in a run in the loss.
