John Nogowski accomplished something fairly rare in Stockton’s season finale on Monday night. He drove in the winning run to make himself the winning pitcher for the Ports. Nogowski threw a scoreless frame in the top of the 12th inning, then came up with two outs and two men on in the bottom of the 12th and singled in the winning run to make himself the winning pitcher on Monday. Nogowski had also singled, doubled and scored twice in the game, while first baseman Chris Iriart singled, doubled, homered, walked and drove in 3 runs to help the Ports finish the season on a high note. This year’s 10th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Mitchell Jordan, was charged with 4 runs in 3 innings of work in his first start for Stockton. And with the win, the Ports finished the season with a 60-80 record.

Just two days after Stockton’s Melvin Mercedes had accomplished the same feat, Wade Kirkland played all nine positions for Midland on Monday. He also singled in his first at-bat in the 3rd inning and made the final out by striking out in the 9th. First baseman Viosergy Rosa singled, doubled and drove in the RockHounds’ only run, while center fielder Brett Vertigan had a pair of singles in the loss. Starter Brandon Mann allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work to suffer his 4th loss, while RHP Kyle Friedrichs gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief in his RockHounds debut, and RHP Kris Hall threw a scoreless frame in his return to the roster. With Hall’s return, RHP Andres Avila and outfielder Danny Oh were both reassigned to the Sounds. And with the loss, Midland finished the season with a record of 78-62 and will begin postseason play on Wednesday at Corpus Christi.

Left fielder Robert Martinez doubled but was left stranded in the 2nd inning, then homered to tie the game in the 6th, while second baseman Trent Gilbert homered in the 8th to deliver the winning run in the Snappers’ season finale on Monday. Shortstop Trace Loehr slugged a 2-run shot in the 3rd, while center fielder Skye Bolt had a pair of hits for Beloit. Starter Brendan Butler allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 5 innings of work, while RHP Nolan Blackwood tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 2nd win for the Snappers. And with the victory, Beloit finished the season with a record of 59-80.

This year’s 3rd-round draft pick for the A’s, catcher Sean Murphy, finished the season on a high note, collecting 3 hits, including a home run, while driving a 3 runs, including the tying run in the bottom of the 8th for Vermont. This year’s 2nd-round pick, RHP Logan Shore, allowed 3 runs and struck out 5 over 5 innings of work, while 6th-round RHP Brandon Bailey gave up 2 runs in 4 innings of relief to earn his 3rd victory for Vermont. And with the win, the Lake Monsters finished the season with a record of 28-48.
