With Nashville notching 13 runs on 18 hits on Sunday, shortstop Josh Rodriguez had the biggest day while right fielder Jaycob Brugman had the biggest moment. Rodriguez ripped a pair of home runs, tagging a 2-run shot in the top of the 4th inning to break a 2-2 tie and briefly give the Sounds a 2-run edge and then drilling a 3-run drive in the 8th inning to extend his team’s lead. Brugman had 4 hits in the game, including a big 3-run homer to break a 6-6 tie in the 7th. And Brugman is now 9 for 13 with 3 extra-base hits over his last 3 games, while Rodriguez is 6 for 11 with 5 extra-base hits in his last 3 games. First baseman Matt Olson singled, doubled and drove in a run, while left fielder Rangel Ravelo singled, drew 3 walks and drove in a run, and catcher Matt McBride and second baseman Joey Wendle had 3 hits apiece to help Nashville prevail on Sunday. Starter Jharel Cotton allowed 6 runs over 5 innings of work, while RHP Eduard Santos tossed 2 scoreless innings to earn his 1st win for the Sounds.

With the RockHounds down by two runs, the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 9th, catcher Beau Taylor stepped to the plate and singled in 2 runs to tie things up and send the game to extra innings. A pair of walks and a wild pitch in the bottom of the 13th ultimately allowed the RockHounds to win in a walk-off on Sunday. First baseman Viosergy Rosa singled twice and doubled in the game, while shortstop Franklin Barreto had 3 hits and a walk for the Hounds. Starter Joel Seddon allowed 3 runs, just 1 earned, over 5 innings of work, while RHP Andres Avila threw 3 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 6th win for the RockHounds.

On Sunday, former Dodgers’ 1st-round draft pick Grant Holmes lost for the 3rd time in 4 starts since joining Stockton, allowing 3 runs over 5 innnings of work for the Ports. Shortstop Richie Martin continued his recent revival at the plate, collecting 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and a walk and also stealing his 11th base, and Martin has now gone 8 for 15 over his last 4 games for Stockton. Left fielder John Nogowski singled twice and doubled, while center fielder B.J. Boyd doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Ports.

Starter Michael Murray was solid in his return from the disabled list on Sunday, allowing just 1 hit, a home run, while walking none and striking out 4 over 4 innings of work. RHP Tyler Willman gave up the tying run in the 8th inning, and LHP Andrew Tomasovich surrendered the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to suffer his 2nd loss as the Snappers lost in a walk-off on Sunday. Second baseman Trent Gilbert had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while right fielder Luis Barrera singled, doubled and stole a base, and shortstop Jesus Lopez had a pair of hits in the loss.

Outfielder Tyler Ramirez

With a man on, two outs and the game tied in the top of the 8th inning, right fielder Tyler Ramirez doubled in the winning run for the Lake Monsters on Sunday. Ramirez also singled in a run in the 1st for Vermont, while shortstop Eli White collected 3 hits, including a double, and stole a base, and first baseman Miguel Mercedes doubled twice and drove in a run. Starter Ivan Andueza gave up 5 runs over 4 innings of work, while LHP Will Gilbert picked up the win despite allowing 1 run in 3 innings of relief for the Lake Monsters.
