RHP Jesse Hahn tossed 1 scoreless inning in a shortened start for the Sounds. It’s assumed that Hahn is likely to make the start for the A’s on Sunday. He was followed on the mound by LHP Ross Detwiler, who was recently acquired from the Indians. The 30-year-old southpaw allowed just 1 run on 3 hits over 5 innings of work to earn the win in his first appearance for the Sounds, while RHP Eduard Santos got the final out in the 9th to notch his 3rd save for Nashville. Center fielder Billy Burns had 3 hits, including a double, stole a base and drove in a pair, while catcher Bruce Maxwell and second baseman Joey Wendle both singled and doubled in the win. In roster news, the A’s optioned LHP Dillon Overton back to Nashville and recalled infielder Arismendy Alcantara, while RHP Raul Alcantara was reassigned to the Sounds, and LHP Brandon Mann returned to the RockHounds on Wednesday.

Second baseman Josh Rodriguez singled, doubled, walked and drove in a pair of runs, including the winning run in the 6th inning, while first baseman Viosergy Rosa also singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and shortstop Yairo Munoz doubled in the tying run for the RockHounds. RHP Chris Jensen was scratched from his scheduled start on Wednesday, possibly due to an impending promotion to Nashville. RHP Jake Sanchez made the start in his place and allowed 4 runs over 2 1/3 innings of work, while RHP Andres Avila threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 4th win, and RHP Bobby Wahl pitched a perfect 9th to post his 7th save for Midland. Meanwhile, RockHounds RHP Raul Alcantara was reassigned to the Sounds, and LHP Brandon Mann returned to Midland from Nashville on Wednesday.

Starter Evan Manarino was solid on Wednesday, allowing 3 runs, all unearned, over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up suffering his 5th loss for the Snappers. Left fielder Robert Martinez hit his 1st home run for Beloit, while right fielder Brett Siddall doubled, walked, singled twice and drove in a run in the loss. In roster news, RHP James Naile was promoted to the Ports, while LHP Zack Erwin was reassigned from Stockton to the Snappers. RHPs Brendan Butler and Nolan Blackwood both joined Beloit from Vermont, and RHP Dustin Driver and LHP Andrew Tomasovich were placed on the disabled list.

This year’s 10th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Mitchell Jordan, turned in a strong outing on Wednesday, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 5 over 4 shutout innings, but RHP Sam Sheehan gave up 2 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss. Left fielder Kyle Nowlin and second baseman Josh Vidales had a pair of hits apiece in the loss.
