Designated hitter Chad Pinder belted a tie-breaking home run in the bottom of the 6th inning to lead the Sounds to victory on Saturday. Pinder now has 9 home runs on the season and 4 in his last 5 games for Nashville. Left fielder Matt McBride doubled in 2 runs to tie the game in the 2nd, and first baseman Ryon Healy had a pair of hits for the Sounds. Rehabbing starter Henderson Alvarez allowed 2 runs in 3 innings of work but had an unexpectedly early exit. After coming out to warm up for the 4th inning, he ended up leaving the field before the inning could begin after a visit from the trainer. RHP Aaron Kurcz stepped in and tossed 3 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd win, while RHP J.B. Wendelken got the final four outs to post his 5th save for the Sounds. Meanwhile, RHP Andrew Triggs was recalled by the A’s and Tyler Ladendorf was optioned back to Nashville on Saturday.

RHP Raul Alcantara had a rough start for the RockHounds, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits in just 3 innings of work to suffer his 5th loss on Saturday. Second baseman Wade Kirkland doubled in a pair of runs in the loss. Kirkland replaced Franklin Barreto at second base when Barreto exited the game with an apparent injury after making a play at second in the top of the 3rd inning.

LHP Matt Stalcup made his second start for Stockton after coming out of the bullpen and allowed 1 run in 3 innings of work on Saturday. RHP Joey Wagman followed with 5 shutout innings to earn his 2nd win for the Ports. RHP Carlos Navas got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 4th save. Catcher Iolana Akau hit his 1st home run to tie the game in the top of the 8th and, later in the same inning, center fielder B.J. Boyd doubled in the winning run for Stockton.

Starter Michael Murray allowed 3 runs in 5 innings of work on Saturday. Beloit came back to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th, but third baseman Edwin Diaz’s fielding error in the top of the 10th allowed the winning run to score and LHP Jared Lyons ended up being saddled with the loss. Second baseman Trent Gilbert doubled in Beloit’s first run in the bottom of the 1st and then also came around to score the second run for the Snappers.

Four errors and a couple of wild pitches helped lead to 7 unearned runs in the Lake Monsters’ loss on Saturday. Starter Dakota Chalmers allowed 4 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits while walking 3, striking out 5 and uncorking a pair of wild pitches over 3 innings of work. RHP Dustin Driver gave up 2 runs, 1 earned, in 2 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss for the Lake Monsters. Center fielder James Terrell tagged a 2-run homer to tie the game in the top of the 5th. First baseman Jhonny Rodriguez slugged a 2-run shot an inning earlier but also made 2 errors in the game, while designated hitter Carson Blair doubled in a run, and right fielder Luis Barrera had a pair of doubles and scored the Lake Monsters’ first run in the 4th.
