LHP Dillon Overton delivered his second straight impressive start for the Sounds on Monday, giving up just 1 run while striking out 7 over 6 innings of work to notch his 3rd win for Nashville. And Overton has now allowed just 2 runs and struck out 15 in 12 2/3 innings over his last two starts for the Sounds. LHP Patrick Schuster got the final five outs for his 4th save. Third baseman Renato Nunez and right fielder Matt Olson both doubled and hit 2-run homers, while left fielder Andrew Lambo collected 3 hits, and first baseman Ryon Healy and catcher Bruce Maxwell had a pair of hits apiece. Rehabbing second baseman Jed Lowrie went 1 for 4 with a walk, while Josh Phegley, serving as the designated hitter for the night, went 1 for 3 with a pair of walks in his third rehab appearance with the Sounds.

RHP Joel Seddon had one of his best starts so far this season for Midland on Monday, allowing just 1 run over 5 innings of work, and he left the game with a 5-run lead. But RHP Kyle Finnegan surrendered 2 runs in 2 innings of relief in his RockHounds debut, while RHP Andres Avila allowed 4 unearned runs, with the help of a fielding error by shortstop Franklin Barreto, to tie the game in the 8th. RHP Jake Sanchez was charged with the winning run in the top of the 10th to take the loss, and RHP Trey Cochran-Gill gave up another 3 runs, 2 earned, before the inning was through. Second baseman Wade Kirkland collected 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while catcher Beau Taylor had 2 hits, 2 walks and drove in a pair. Center fielder Brett Vertigan singled, drew 3 walks, scored 3 times and stole a base, and shortstop Franklin Barreto singled, doubled, walked and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

RHP Casey Meisner turned in a strong start for Stockton on Monday, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, while striking out 7 over 6 innings of work, but he still ended up suffering his 7th loss. Designated hitter Joe Bennie and left fielder Melvin Mercedes had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports, and last year’s #1 draft pick for the A’s, Richie Martin, went 0 for 4 while batting leadoff and playing shortstop in his first game for Stockton since returning from knee surgery.
MIDWEST LEAGUE (Class-A)

RHP Angel Duno had another solid start for the Snappers, allowing 2 runs over 6 innings of work, and he left the game with a 2-run lead on Monday. RHP Kevin Johnson was charged with 2 unearned runs, with the help of a fielding error by shortstop Edwin Diaz, to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th. But Diaz homered in the top of the 9th to provide the Snappers with the margin of victory on Monday. RHP Armando Ruiz got the final out in the 8th to pick up the win, while RHP Corey Miller pitched a scoreless 9th to notch his 3rd save. Diaz had 3 hits in the game, including his home run, while third baseman Jean Carlo Rodriguez singled twice, doubled and drove in a pair for the Snappers.
