RHP Zach Neal turned in one of his best starts of the season for the Sounds, allowing just 3 baserunners – on 3 singles – and 1 run over 8 innings of work to earn the win on Saturday. And Neal, who was originally slated to start the season in the Sounds bullpen, now has 4 wins to lead the staff. LHP Patrick Schuster tossed a scoreless 9th to notch his 2nd save. Designated hitter Andrew Lambo doubled in Nashville’s first run in the 4th inning, while catcher Bruce Maxwell singled in the Sounds’ second run in the 7th, and center fielder Jake Smolinski singled, walked and scored a run in the game. Meanwhile, Nashville RHP Andrew Triggs was recalled by the A’s for the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader and then optioned back to the Sounds after the doubleheader was through.

First baseman Ryon Healy belted a 2-run homer to bring home the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the 5th inning for the RockHounds on Saturday. And after Frisco tied the game again in the 6th, catcher Andy Paz clubbed his first home run for Midland, a solo shot, to bring home the winning run for the Hounds. Starter Joel Seddon allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work, while RHP Jake Sanchez tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Aaron Kurcz got the final six outs for his 4th save.

RHP Boomer Biegalski turned in another solid start for the Snappers on Saturday, allowing 1 run on 4 hits over 5 innings of work, but RHP Corey Miller surrendered 3 runs in the 6th inning to suffer the loss. Third baseman Edwin Diaz reached base 4 times, on a walk, a single and a pair of doubles, and drove in a run, while designated hitter Trent Gilbert doubled in a pair of runs in the loss. In other news, RHP Dustin Driver, who was placed on the disabled list on April 26 after exiting a game with elbow pain, is currently being treated for neuritis (nerve inflammation) and hasn’t been diagnosed with any structural damage in his elbow.
