First baseman Ryon Healy helped lead the RockHounds to their sixth straight win on Saturday. Healy doubled in the Hounds’ first run in the bottom of the 1st inning to tie the game and came around to score the go-ahead run later in the same inning. He then hit his 5th home run, a solo shot, in the 5th inning to extend Midland’s lead to two. And with his 16 extra-base hits, Healy currently holds the Hounds’ best slugging percentage (.652). Shortstop Yairo Munoz had a pair of hits and drove in the go-ahead run in the 1st, while Franklin Barreto, making his first professional start at second base, collected 3 hits to extend his hitting streak to 8 games and also made a number of stellar plays in the field. Starter Raul Alcantara allowed 2 runs over 5 2/3 innings to earn his 1st win, while RHP Ryan Doolittle pitched a perfect 8th to extend his scoreless streak to 10 1/3 innings to start the season, and RHP Aaron Kurcz got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 2nd save.

Starter Dillon Overton had a no-hitter through the first 4 innings and a 1-hit shutout through the first 5 innings before surrendering 3 runs in the 6th inning on Saturday. Overton ended up allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk while walking 7 over 6 innings of work to suffer his 2nd loss for the Sounds. Designated hitter Max Muncy singled in the Sounds’ first run in the top of the 6th and also drew a pair of walks in the game. Muncy’s impressive .381 on-base percentage is the team’s best by far, while Renato Nunez is second with an OBP of .329. With RHP Jesse Hahn’s return to Oakland on Sunday, RHP Andrew Triggs was optioned back to the Sounds for the second time this week.

RHP Henderson Alvarez returned to Stockton for another rehab start on Saturday. The 26-year-old allowed just 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk and struck out 4 in 4 innings of work. Alvarez threw 48 pitches – 35 strikes and 13 balls. RHP Brett Graves followed him to the mound and was even more impressive, allowing 1 run on just 1 hit while walking none and striking out 4 over 5 innings to earn his 2nd win for Stockton. First baseman Sandber Pimentel had a pair of doubles, a walk and drove in a run, while center fielder James Harris singled, doubled, walked and drove in a pair for the Ports.
