After dropping the first game of the series, the RockHounds won their third straight game on Saturday to clinch the Texas League South Division Championship, and Midland will now move on to the Texas League Championship Series for the second straight season. RHP Jake Sanchez turned in a strong start on Saturday, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings of work to earn the win. RHP Kris Hall followed Sanchez on the mound but left after loading the bases with one out in the top of the 8th. RHP Brendan McCurry came on and struck out the next two batters to escape the jam and stayed on to strike out two more while tossing a scoreless 9th to earn the save. Third baseman Ryon Healy homered to put the Hounds on the board in the 2nd, while right fielder Matt Olson smacked a 2-run homer in the 3rd, and left fielder Jaycob Brugman followed up with a solo shot in the 4th to provide the RockHounds with all the runs they would need on Saturday. Before the game, Midland shortstop Chad Pinder was placed on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, and Stockton shortstop Yairo Munoz was called up to replace him on the RockHounds roster. The Hounds will begin the best-of-five Texas League Championship Series at home against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Tuesday.
