In his fourth appearance since returning from a seven-week stint on the disabled list, LHP Sean Nolin was impressive for the Sounds, retiring the first 12 batters he faced and allowing just 1 baserunner, on a single in the 5th inning, while striking out 6 over 4 2/3 innings of work, and he left the game with a 1-run lead on Monday. LHP Victor Veliz tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win in his first appearance for Nashville. Outfielder Jason Pridie had a pair of hits, shortstop Andy Parrino and designated hitter Rangel Ravelo each singled, walked and drove in a run, and second baseman Joey Wendle singled and swiped a pair of bases for the Sounds. In addition to Veliz’s addition to the roster, RHP Jake Sanchez and catcher Nick Rickles were promoted to Nashville from Midland and RHP Cody Martin was placed on the temporarily inactive list as the A’s prepare to promote him to Oakland on Tuesday.

Right fielder Matt Olson doubled in a pair of runs in the 1st inning, and left fielder Jaycob Brugman followed up by belting a 2-run homer in the 1st and then doubled in a pair in the 3rd. Starter Tim Atherton allowed 3 runs, just 1 earned, in 2 1/3 innings of work in his return from the disabled list, while RHP Jonathan Joseph gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in 3 2/3 innings of relief, and RHP Ryan Doolittle surrendered the winning run in the top of the 8th to take the loss for the RockHounds. While Atherton returned from the disabled list on Monday, LHP Jeff Urlaub replaced him on the DL, and RHP Jake Sanchez and catcher Nick Rickles were reassigned to Nashville.

RHP Junior Mendez had a rough start for the Snappers, allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, over 3 1/3 innings of work on Monday, while RHP Lee Sosa gave up 4 runs in just 1/3 of an inning of relief to take the loss, and converted catcher Ryan Gorton tossed 2 scoreless innings in his debut for Beloit. Outfielder James Harris singled, doubled, tripled and drove in 3, while third baseman Jose Brizuela had 3 singles and a walk and drove in a run, and shortstop Mikey White and designated hitter Joe Bennie had a pair of hits apiece in the loss. And with Gorton joining Beloit from Vermont, Snappers LHP Jose Torres was promoted to the Ports.

With the game tied in the top of the 13th on Monday, center fielder Steven Pallares singled to lead off the inning with his 4th hit of the day and eventually came around to score the winning run on second baseman Trace Loehr’s RBI single. First baseman Seth Brown followed up by doubling in Loehr, and left fielder Brett Siddall would single in Brown with his 3rd hit of the day before the inning was through. Right fielder Skye Bolt collected 3 hits, including a triple, and drove in a run in the 4th, while catcher Tom Gavitt doubled in a run in the 7th. Starter Chris Kohler threw 3 scoreless innings to start things off for the Lake Monsters, while LHP Evan Manarino pitched 3 perfect innings in relief. RHP Heath Bowers allowed 2 unearned runs in the 7th, with the help of a passed ball by Gavitt and a fielding error by Loehr, and RHP James Naile tossed a scoreless 12th and 13th to earn his 3rd win for the Lake Monsters.
