RHP Chris Jensen delivered an impressive outing for the RockHounds on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run while striking out 8 over 6 innings of work to earn his 8th win for Midland. RHPs Andres Avila, Ryan Doolittle and Seth Frankoff each tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief. Third baseman Ryon Healy collected 3 hits, including his 10th home run, and drove in 2 runs, while outfielder Josh Whitaker singled, doubled, walked and drove in a pair for the Hounds.

LHP Matt Stalcup turned in a solid start for Stockton, allowing 2 runs and striking out 5 over 5 1/3 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Wednesday. Outfielder Tyler Marincov had a pair of hits, stole a base and drove in the Ports’ only run of the game.

Starter Daniel Gossett had another rough start for the Snappers on Wednesday, allowing 5 runs in 4 innings of work to take his 12th loss, while RHP Lee Sosa gave up 7 runs, 5 earned in 1 2/3 innings of relief. First baseman Sandber Pimentel singled and homered to put Beloit on the board in the 6th inning, and outfielder Justin Higley hit his 10th home run later in the same inning, but that was all the scoring the Snappers would do on Wednesday.

This year’s 6th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Bowdien Derby, had another solid outing for the Lake Monsters on Wednesday, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 5 over 3 scoreless innings to lower his ERA with Vermont to 0.68. But 7th-round RHP Kyle Friedrichs surrendered 7 runs in just 2/3 of an inning of work to suffer his 2nd loss for the Lake Monsters. 4th-round outfielder Skye Bolt walked and homered in the bottom of the 7th to put Vermont on the board, while designated hitter Vicmal De La Cruz singled, doubled and scored in the loss.

20-year-old Venezuelan LHP Ivan Andueza had another strong start for the A’s, allowing just 1 run over 5 innings of work on Wednesday, but RHP Branden Kelliher was charged with 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief to take his 4th loss, and RHP Marc Berube gave up another 3 runs in just 1/3 of an inning for the A’s. Outfielder Robert Martinez singled and tripled in the A’s only run to tie the game in the top of the 7th, while third baseman Miguel Mercedes singled, walked and scored in the loss.
