First baseman Matt Olson has definitely been heating up again as we approach the final month of the minor league season. On Monday, he hit a pair of home runs, a 2-run shot to give his team the lead in the top of the 4th as well as a 3-run drive in the 5th, to give Olson a total of 4 home runs over his last 5 games. Designated hitter Rangel Ravelo doubled and hit a 2-run homer, while second baseman Colin Walsh homered in the 1st and singled in a run in the 8th, and shortstop Chad Pinder and outfielder Chad Oberacker had a pair of hits apiece for the Hounds. Starter Jonathan Joseph allowed 5 runs over 5 1/3 innings of work to pick up his 7th win, while LHP Omar Duran was charged with 4 runs in just 1/3 of an inning in relief, and RHP Ryan Dull got the final two outs in the 9th to notch his 12th save for Midland.

Sounds starter Barry Zito allowed 4 runs in just 3 innings of work on Monday. Nashville eventually came back to take the lead, but RHP Brock Huntzinger was charged with 3 runs in the top of the 9th to take the loss. Second baseman Joey Wendle had 3 hits and doubled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 8th, while designated hitter Nate Freiman also collected 3 hits and drove in a run. Center fielder Craig Gentry singled, doubled, walked and scored 3 times, and left fielder Ryan Roberts singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Sounds.

Starter Raul Alcantara had another solid outing for Stockton, allowing just 1 run over 4 innings of work, and he left the game with a 1-run lead on Monday. RHP Joel Seddon then gave up 2 runs in 1 inning of relief to take the loss. The Ports managed just 5 hits in the game. Right fielder Tyler Marincov had a pair of singles and stole a base, while left fielder Coco Crisp went 0 for 2 with a walk in his first rehab appearance for the Ports. Second baseman Trent Gilbert went 1 for 3 and shortstop Yairo Munoz went 0 for 3 in their debuts for Stockton after being promoted from Beloit. Meanwhile, Ports first baseman John Nogowski landed on the disabled list and catcher Jose Chavez was placed on the temporarily inactive list. And RHP Casey Meisner, acquired from the Mets in the Tyler Clippard trade, is expected to be assigned to Stockton.
