Designated hitter Renato Nunez delivered a big blow early by belting a 3-run homer in the top of the 1st inning to give the RockHounds an early lead on Tuesday. Nunez later doubled with two outs in the 8th but was left stranded and, over his last 2 games, he’s now gone 5 for 10 with 2 home runs. Shortstop Chad Pinder collected 4 hits, including his 9th home run, while first baseman Rangel Ravelo had 3 hits and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Chris Jensen allowed 7 runs, 4 earned, over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss, while LHP Omar Duran threw 2 shutout frames to earn the win. RHP Seth Frankoff contributed another 1 2/3 scoreless innings, and RHP Tucker Healy got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 3rd save.

Outfielder Jason Pridie continued his hot hitting on Tuesday, hitting a 2-run homer, his third home run in the last two days, in the top of the 5th to give the Sounds the lead. Pridie also singled and walked in the game, while second baseman Joey Wendle doubled, tripled and scored twice, and third baseman Max Muncy had 2 hits and drove in a pair. Starter Nate Long gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, over 5 innings of work to pick up the win, while RHP Ryan Cook got the final out in the bottom of the 9th to earn his 8th save.

With two on, two outs and the game tied in the bottom of the 8th, second baseman Branden Cogswell tripled in both runners to provide the margin of victory for Stockton on Tuesday. Outfielder Brett Vertigan doubled twice in the game, while shortstop Melvin Mercedes and first baseman John Nogowski had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. Starter Dylan Covey tossed 5 shutout innings, while RHP Corey Walter picked up the win with 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Brendan McCurry pitched a perfect 9th to post his 19th save for Stockton.

RHP Daniel Gossett turned in a strong start for the Snappers on Tuesday, allowing 2 runs and striking out 6 over 7 innings of work to earn his 4th win, while RHP Carlos Navas got the final two outs in the 9th to notch his 1st save. Shortstop Yairo Munoz hit a 2-run homer, while second baseman Trent Gilbert singled, tripled and drove in a pair for the Snappers.

This year’s 6th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Bowdien Derby, had another solid outing, tossing 3 scoreless innings to start things off right on Tuesday, but LHP Chris Kohler gave up 2 runs over 5 innings of work to take the loss for the Lake Monsters. Vermont was shut out on just 6 hits on Tuesday. Shortstop Richie Martin tripled, while first baseman Chris Iriart doubled in the loss.
