RHP Jonathan Joseph turned in his second straight strong start on Saturday, allowing 5 hits while striking out 5 over 7 shutout innings to earn his 6th win for the RockHounds. Since reaching the Double-A level for the first time this season, the 27-year-old minor league veteran has been impressive. And in 14 innings over his last 2 starts, Joseph has allowed just 1 earned run. After Joseph exited, RHP Tucker Healy pitched a perfect 8th, and RHP Ryan Dull got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 8th save and complete the 5-hit shutout on Saturday. Outfielder Matt Angle singled, stole a base and scored Midland’s first run in the top of the 1st, while second baseman Colin Walsh singled in a run for the Hounds. And with Matt Olson and Renato Nunez set to participate in the Futures Game, infielder Rangel Ravelo was assigned to Midland on Saturday and went 0 for 3 with a walk in his RockHounds debut.

Right fielder Jason Pridie continued his slugging ways for the Sounds on Saturday, hitting his 12th home run, a 2-run shot, to tie the game in the top of the 3rd. Left fielder Anthony Aliotti and third baseman Max Muncy also homered for the Sounds. LHP Brad Mills had his third straight rough start on Saturday, allowing 4 runs in just 2 innings of work, while RHP Arnold Leon gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief to take the loss for the Sounds. And with A’s RHP Jesse Hahn landing on the disabled list, Sounds RHP Chris Bassitt was recalled by Oakland.

With two on, one out and Stockton down by a run in the top of the 6th, catcher Beau Taylor singled in 2 runs to provide the tying and winning runs for the Ports on Saturday. Taylor also walked twice in the game, while first baseman John Nogowski and second baseman Branden Cogswell had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports. Starter Matt Stalcup allowed 2 runs over 5 1/3 innings of work and left with his team down by a run, while RHP Lou Trivino tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 8th win, and RHP Brendan McCurry got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 18th save.

With one out and a man on in the bottom of the 11th, outfielder Justin Higley doubled in the game-winning run as the Snappers won in a walk-off on Saturday. Higley also singled in a pair in the 6th, while catcher Iolana Akau and second baseman Trent Gilbert each had a pair of hits and drove in a run for Beloit. Starter Junior Mendez allowed 4 runs over 5 innings of work, while RHP Carlos Navas tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win for the Snappers.

First baseman Chris Iriart had another solid night at the plate for the Lake Monsters, singling, doubling and driving in a run, while third baseman Trace Loehr singled, homered and drove in a pair but also made a key error that led to 3 unearned runs in the top of the 8th, and designated hitter Mikey White singled, doubled and walked for Vermont. Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 1 run in 3 innings of work and left with a 1-run lead, while LHP Kevin Ferreras was charged with 3 unearned runs in 3 innings of relief to take the loss for the Lake Monsters.
