RHP Jake Sanchez turned in his third straight quality start for the RockHounds, allowing 4 hits while striking out 5 over 6 shutout innings to earn his 6th win on Thursday. And in 14 innings over his last 2 starts, Sanchez has allowed just 2 runs on 7 hits while walking 1 and striking out 10 for the Hounds. Relievers Tucker Healy, Seth Frankoff and Omar Duran each contributed 1 scoreless inning in Thursday’s 5-hit shutout. Catcher Bruce Maxwell singled, doubled and drove in 3, while while a trio of RockHounds – first baseman Matt Olson, third baseman Renato Nunez and designated hitter Ryon Healy – each collected a single and a double in the win.

RHP Parker Frazier, recently acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, allowed 4 runs on 12 hits over 4 1/3 innings to take the loss in his Nashville debut on Thursday. Second baseman Joey Wendle hit a 2-run homer to tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd and also singled in the 4th, while outfielder Jason Pridie singled, tripled and scored a run. Catcher Carson Blair singled and walked in his first game for the Sounds, and third baseman Max Muncy also singled and walked in his return to Nashville. In addition to Frazier’s acquisition, RHP Cody Martin was acquired by the A’s from the Braves and assigned to the Sounds, while LHP Sean Nolin was placed on the disabled list with a left shoulder injury. First baseman Nate Freiman was designated for assignment, and shortstop Andy Parrino was placed on the temporarily inactive list while he participates in the PanAm Games.

Starter Kyle Finnegan labored through 3 innings on Thursday, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits while throwing a total of 75 pitches to take his 5th loss for Stockton. RHP Trevor Bayless gave up 2 runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief, and LHP Phil Coke surrendered another 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings of work. Third baseman Matt Chapman smacked his 13th home run, a 2-run shot, in the 7th inning and also drew a pair of walks in the game. And Chapman’s 13 homers are the most among A’s minor leaguers. Right fieder Tyler Marincov doubled in a run in the 9th, while center fielder B.J. Boyd had a pair of hits for the Ports.

The Snappers’ #9 hitter, outfielder Shawn Duinkerk, slugged a pair of 2-run homers on Thursday, one to bring Beloit within a run in the 3rd inning, and one to give the Snappers a 1-run lead in the 7th. After Wisconsin tied the game in the top of the 9th, Snappers second baseman Trent Gilbert then singled in the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to give Beloit the walk-off win on Thursday. Catcher Iolana Akau singled, doubled, walked and scored twice in his first game since being promoted to Beloit. Starter Brett Graves allowed 3 runs over 6 innings of work, while LHP Cody Stull tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Koby Gauna gave up 1 unearned run in the top of the 9th but still ended up earning his 2nd win for the Snappers.

With Vermont down by two runs and the bases loaded in the top of the 4th, this year’s 19th-round draft pick for the A’s, outfielder Seth Brown, tripled in 3 runs to clear the bases and give the Lake Monsters the lead. Brown also singled and walked in the game, while first baseman Chris Iriart doubled in a pair of runs in the 9th. 2nd-rounder Mikey White, serving as the designated hitter for the day, singled and doubled in the game, and the A’s #1 pick this year, shortstop Richie Martin, went 2 for 4 with a walk, drove in a run and scored twice in his professional debut for Vermont. Starter Heath Bowers allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work, while LHP Evan Manarino also gave up 1 run in 2 innings but picked up the win, and RHP Corey Miller tossed 4 scoreless innings in relief for the Lake Monsters.
ARIZONA LEAGUE (Rookie Short-Season)

This year’s 3rd-round draft pick for the A’s, 18-year-old RHP Dakota Chalmers, allowed 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 1 over 2 scoreless innings in his professional debut for the AZL A’s on Thursday. 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Argenis Blanco allowed 6 runs, just 2 earned, over 5 innings of work but still ended up earning his 3rd win, while 30th-round RHP Brendan Butler got the final two outs in the 9th to pick up his 1st save. 13th-round outfielder Brett Siddall doubled in a pair of runs in the A’s 5-run 8th and also tripled with two outs in the 7th but was left stranded. Catcher Robert Mullen and third baseman Miguel Mercedes each tripled in a pair of runs in the game, while first baseman Rangel Ravelo singled, doubled and scored twice for the A’s
