RHP Joel Seddon delivered another impressive start for Stockton on Sunday, allowing just 4 hits over 7 shutout innings to earn his 5th win for the Ports. And in 25 innings over his past 4 starts, Seddon has allowed just 4 runs while walking 1 and striking out 16. RHP Corey Walter gave up 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of relief, while RHP Brendan McCurry got the final two outs in the 9th to notch his 14th save. Center fielder Brett Vertigan doubled in 2 runs in the top of the 6th, while left fielder B.J. Boyd had a pair of hits and also drove in a run in the 6th. Right fielder Tyler Marincov doubled in Stockton’s first run in the 3rd, and catcher Nick Rickles had a pair of hits for the Ports.

LHP Barry Zito turned in a solid start on Sunday, allowing 2 runs over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss as the Sounds were shut out on just 3 hits. First baseman Nate Freiman, second baseman Joey Wendle and third baseman Ryan Roberts each singled in the loss.

Designated hitter Josh Whitaker had a pair of hits, stole a base and scored the RockHounds’ first run in the top of the 1st, while catcher Bruce Maxwell and first baseman Renato Nunez each singled in a run for the RockHounds.

RHP Joey Wagman had a strong start for the Snappers on Sunday, allowing just 2 hits while striking out 5 over 5 shutout innings to earn his 3rd win for Beloit. RHP Kevin Johnson gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, in 1 inning of relief, but RHP Koby Gauna tossed a scoreless 9th to notch his 1st save. Second baseman Trent Gilbert hit his 5th home run in the 1st inning and singled in another run in the Snappers’ 5-run 5th, while third baseman Jose Brizuela doubled in the 2nd and singled in 2 runs in the 5th, and first baseman Sandber Pimentel had a pair of hits and a walk and drove in a run in the win.

Last year’s 8th-round pick for the A’s, RHP Branden Kelliher, allowed 1 run in 2 2/3 innings of work, while 20-year-old Venezuelan LHP Ivan Andueza struck out 5 in 2 scoreless innings to earn the win on Sunday. 18-year-old Dominican outfielder Jhonny Rodriguez had a big night at the plate, singling in the 1st, hitting a 3-run homer in the 3rd, and tripling in another run in the 8th, while catcher Jordan Devencenzi had 3 hits and drove in Rodriguez in the 8th, and first baseman Rangel Ravelo doubled, walked and scored for the A’s.
