RHP Zach Neal turned in an impressive start on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 6 over 7 innings of work to earn his 3rd win for Nashville as the Sounds bested Sacramento for the third straight game. A’s LHP Eric O’Flaherty gave up 2 singles while tossing a scoreless 8th inning in his first rehab appearance for the Sounds, and LHP Joe Paterson surrendered 3 runs, 2 earned, in the 9th in his first appearance since being signed to a minor league contract by the A’s and assigned to Nashville. Catcher Bryan Anderson collected 3 doubles and drove in 4 runs on the night, while designated hitter Jason Pridie had 3 hits, including 2 doubles and his team-leading 5th home run, while driving in a pair. Giants’ rehabbing RHP Jake Peavy allowed 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss for Sacramento.

Starter Chris Jensen had a solid outing for the RockHounds, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, over 8 innings to earn his 4th win on Wednesday, while RHP Bobby Wahl struck out 2 in a scoreless 9th for Midland. Designated hitter Carson Blair continued his hot hitting, collecting a pair of triples and a double and driving in 2 runs, while second baseman Colin Walsh had 3 hits and a walk, stole a base and drove in a pair, and catcher Bruce Maxwell and outfielder Chad Oberacker both singled, walked and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

After enduring his first really rough outing of the season last week, LHP Dillon Overton returned with a strong start for Stockton on Wednesday, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 6 over 5 shutout innings and he left the game with a 4-run lead. RHP Sam Bragg came on and gave up 2 runs in the 6th inning, while LHP Omar Duran surrendered the lead by allowing 3 runs in the top of the 8th, but he ended up picking up the win after the Ports reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the 8th, and RHP Brendan McCurry then earned his 5th save by pitching a perfect 9th. Center fielder Brett Vertigan collected 3 hits, including his 2nd home run, and drove in a pair, while right fielder Tyler Marincov smashed his 5th home run, and left fielder B.J. Boyd and second baseman Branden Cogswell had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.

Shortstop Yairo Munoz smacked his 5th home run in the 1st inning to put Beloit on the board and tripled in the Snappers’ second run in the 3rd. He then scored later that same inning on first baseman Sandber Pimentel’s organization-leading 8th home run of the season. Starter Brett Graves allowed 3 runs over 5 2/3 innings to pick up his 4th win, while RHP Rob Huber gave up 1 run in 2 innings of relief, and LHP Jose Torres got the final four outs to earn his 4th save for the Snappers.
