In his first at-bat of the night in the top of the 2nd, with Stockton down by a run, outfielder Tyler Marincov slugged his 4th home run to tie the game for the Ports. Marincov had a big night at the plate, collecting 4 hits and scoring 3 times for Stockton. Third baseman Matt Chapman and catcher Nick Rickles both singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and Ben Zobrist went 1 for 3 while playing left field and batting third in his second rehab appearance with Stockton. Starter Joel Seddon allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 5 innings of work, while RHPs Sam Roberts and Brendan McCurry both allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief, with Roberts picking up his 1st win and McCurry posting his 4th save for the Ports.

After turning in his best start of the season last week, RHP Jake Sanchez had a rough outing for the RockHounds on Wednesday, allowing 6 runs, 5 earned, over 7 innings of work to take his 3rd loss for the Hounds. RHP Tucker Healy gave up 2 more runs in 1 inning of relief. Midland managed just 5 hits on Wednesday. Shortstop Chad Pinder had a pair of hits and stole a base, while second baseman Colin Walsh, third baseman Renato Nunez and right fielder Matt Olson all singled in the loss. In other news, with LHP Drew Pomeranz landing on the disabled list for Oakland, RHP Arnold Leon being recalled by the A’s and RHP Zach Neal being promoted from the Hounds to the Sounds, LHP Chris Lamb returned to the RockHounds’ roster after spending three weeks at extended spring training in Arizona.

RHP Junior Mendez had a solid start for the Snappers on Wednesday, allowing just 1 run in 5 1/3 innings of work, and he left the game with a 2-run lead. RHP Carlos Navas gave up 1 run in 1 2/3 innings work, while RHP Corey Miller was charged with allowing the tying run in the 9th, and RHP Rob Huber gave up 2 unearned runs in the top of the 10th, with the help of a throwing error by catcher Jose Chavez, to take his 2nd loss for the Snappers. Shortstop Yairo Munoz had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in 2 runs, while outfielder Max Kuhn and designated hitter Jose Bennie had a pair of hits apiece in the loss. Meanwhile, with RHP Joey Wagman’s addition to the roster, RHP Tyler Hollstegge was placed on the disabled list for the Snappers.
