Outfielder Kent Matthes doubled in a pair of runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 1st to give the Sounds all the runs they would need to prevail on Sunday. Nashville tallied just 3 other hits in the game but managed to draw a total of 7 walks. First baseman Max Muncy, third baseman Tyler Ladendorf and outfielder Billy Burns all singled and walked for the Sounds. RHP Chris Bassitt was scheduled to start, but RHP Fernando Rodriguez took the ball to begin the game with Bassitt following for an extended stint in relief. Rodriguez allowed 1 run over 2 1/3 innings, while Bassitt threw 4 2/3 shutout innings to earn the win. LHP Eury De La Rosa tossed a scoreless 8th, and RHP Ryan Cook pitched a perfect 9th to pick up his 1st save for the Sounds.

Starter Lou Trivino took a liner off his right hand/wrist area in the top of the 2nd and exited after making it through 1 1/3 scoreless innings in his second start for Stockton. RHP Sam Bragg entered the game on short notice and ended up allowing 5 runs on 7 hits over 2 2/3 innings to take the loss. The Ports were shut out on just 5 hits on Sunday. Designated hitter Justin Higley collected 2 of those hits, while outfielder Tyler Marincov, shortstop Franklin Barreto and third baseman Michael Soto each singled in the loss.

The A’s 2nd-round pick in last year’s draft, RHP Daniel Gossett, had a rough outing in his second time out for the Snappers, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks over 4 innings to take his 2nd loss on Sunday. Second baseman Trent Gilbert singled, doubled and drove in a run, while designated hitter Max Kuhn singled, walked and drove in a pair. Outfielder Brett Vertigan walked 3 times and scored twice, and first baseman Sandber Pimentel had a pair of singles for the Snappers.
