Third baseman Michael Soto smacked a 2-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 1st to put the Ports on the board. Then, with the game tied in the 6th, he singled in the go-ahead run for Stockton. Right fielder Tyler Marincov doubled in a run, while first baseman John Nogowski singled, walked and scored a run, and left fielder B.J. Boyd had a pair of hits for the Ports. Starter Tim Atherton turned in another solid effort, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, while striking out 5 over 5 innings of work, but he left with the game tied. RHP Joel Seddon gave up 1 run in 2 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the win, while RHP Sam Bragg tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his 1st save for Stockton.

First baseman Max Muncy doubled in 2 runs in the 9th for Nashville, but that would be all his team could push across the plate, and the Sounds would come up a run short on Thursday. Third baseman Tyler Ladendorf singled, doubled and walked, while outfielder Billy Burns had 3 hits on the night to raise his batting average to .424. Starter Ryan Verdugo allowed 1 run over 3 1/3 innings of work to take the loss, while his tandem partner, RHP Angel Castro, surrendered 2 runs in 4 2/3 innings of relief.

With a 2-run lead in the top of the 5th, first baseman Matt Olson slugged a 2-run homer to extend the RockHounds’ lead. It was the 3rd home run for Olson, who also drew a pair of walks in the game. Second baseman Colin Walsh and catcher Bruce Maxwell each collected 3 hits, walked and drove in a pair, while third baseman Ryon Healy and shortstop Chad Pinder each singled, doubled and walked in the game. Starter Chris Jensen allowed 3 runs over 5 2/3 innings to pick up his 2nd win, while RHP Kris Hall tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Ryan Dull got the final six outs for Midland.

Let there be lights! The Snappers took the loss in the completion of Wednesday night’s game that was suspended due to problems with the lights at Pohlman Field in Beloit. Last year’s 3rd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brett Graves, allowed 2 runs while walking none and striking out 5 over 5 innings of work before the game was called on Wednesday. After play resumed on Thursday, RHP Kevin Johnson allowed 4 runs, 2 earned, over 4 innings to take the loss. Third baseman Edwin Diaz doubled and scored, while outfielder Robert Martinez doubled in a run, and first baseman Sandber Pimentel singled, doubled and scored a run in the loss.

RHP Jordan Schwartz allowed 4 runs over 5 innings to take the loss in the second game played at Pohlman Field in Beloit on Thursday. The Snappers managed just 5 hits in the game. First baseman Sandber Pimentel and shortstop Edwin Diaz both doubled, while catcher Jose Chavez singled in the only run of the game as the Snappers lost their 7th straight on Thursday.
