Outfielder Billy Burns had a big day for Nashville on Tuesday, collecting 4 hits, including a 10th inning triple that drove in the winning run for the Sounds. Burns also swiped a pair of bases in the game. Shortstop Tyler Ladendorf had 3 hits and drove in a run in his first game for Nashville, while catcher Bryan Anderson and outfielder Alden Carrithers had a pair of hits apiece for the Sounds. Starter Chris Bassitt was in command early, holding Oklahoma City scoreless through the first 6 innings but was charged with 2 runs in the 7th. Bassitt ended up allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits while striking out 9 over 6 1/3 innings of work. Errors by third baseman Andy Parrino and first baseman Max Muncy combined with a pair of walks and a hit batter by LHP Eury De La Rosa enabled Oklahoma City to tie the game in the 7th. After Nashville took the lead again in the top of the 8th, RHP Chad Smith gave up a run in the bottom on the 9th to send the game to extra innings, where Billy Burns was able to drive in the decisive run in the 10th.

RHP Zach Neal allowed 3 runs over 5 2/3 innings of work and left the game with 2 outs in the top of the 6th with his team down by 3. Midland tied the game in the bottom of the 6th, but LHP Jim Fuller was charged with 3 runs in the top of the 7th to take the loss. Outfielder Chad Oberacker and second baseman Colin Walsh each singled and doubled for the RockHounds, with Walsh driving in a run and Oberacker driving in a pair in the loss.

Last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Daniel Gossett, had a rough time in his first outing for Beloit, allowing 6 runs, 4 earned, over 5 innings to take the loss. RHP Rob Huber gave up 2 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief, while LHP Cody Stull tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the Snappers. Second baseman Trent Gilbert singled, doubled, walked and scored twice, while outfielder Joe Bennie tripled in a run, and third baseman Melvin Mercedes and Yairo Munoz had a pair of hits apiece in the loss.
