With two on and two outs in the 1st inning, outfielder Kent Matthes doubled in Nashville’s first two runs of the game and the Sounds would never look back on Saturday. Catcher Luke Carlin collected 2 hits and drove in a pair of runs. Starter Angel Castro allowed 2 runs over 3 1/3 innings, while LHP Ryan Verdugo gave up 1 run in 3 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win. LHP Eury De La Rosa pitched a perfect 8th and RHP Chad Smith tossed a scoreless 9th to earn his 1st save for the Sounds.

Outfielder and leadoff hitter Bobby Crocker reached base 5 times on Saturday, collecting 3 singles and a pair of walks and also managed to swipe 3 bases. Shortstop Chad Pinder had another solid night at the plate, singling, tripling and drawing a walk, while outfielder Jaycob Brugman doubled and drove in a run but, unfortunately, it wouldn’t be enough to help the Hounds win. Starter Tanner Peters had a rough outing, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings to take the loss for Midland.

Starter Jordan Schwartz allowed 3 runs over 5 innings of work, while RHP Carlos Navas gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief, and a throwing error by catcher Argenis Raga allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the 9th, saddling RHP Rob Huber with the loss.

Starter Kevin Johnson tossed 4 scoreless innings, while LHP Cody Stull allowed 1 run in 2 innings of relief, and LHP Jose Torres gave up the winning run in just 1/3 of an inning to take the loss for the Snappers.
