RHP Nate Long turned in another strong start for the RockHounds, striking out 5 over 6 2/3 shutout innings to earn his league-leading 11th win on Wednesday, while RHP Jose Flores pitched a perfect 9th to post his 7th save. Outfielder Kent Matthes homered in his third straight game, while shortstop Dusty Coleman doubled in a run. First baseman Max Muncy walked, doubled and scored twice, and outfielder Kenny Wilson and designated hitter Hiro Nakajima had a pair of hits apiece for the Hounds.

RHP Dylan Covey was a little shaky in his third start for Stockton, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits in 5 innings of work, but he still ended up posting his 1st win on Wednesday. RHP Andres Avila tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, while RHP Rodolfo Fernandez pitched a perfect 8th, and RHP Austin House got the final three outs in the 9th to earn his 16th save for Stockton. Outfielder Jaycob Brugman singled and hit a 2-run homer, while catcher Beau Taylor collected 3 hits and drove in a run. Shortstop Daniel Robertson singled, doubled and drove in a pair, and designated hitter Renato Nunez singled, tripled and drove in a run for the Ports.

RHP Kyle Finnegan had a rough start on Wednesday, allowing 5 runs over just 3 innings of work to take the loss for the Snappers. Third baseman Luis Baez hit a 2-run homer, while outfielder Ryan Mathews collected 3 hits. First baseman Michael Soto tripled in a run, and catcher Philip Pohl and outfielder Tyler Marincov had a pair of hits apiece for the Snappers.

Last year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, LHP Dillon Overton, was promoted to Vermont on Wednesday to make his first start for the Lake Monsters as he continues his return from Tommy John surgery. Overton allowed 1 run on 3 hits while walking 1 and striking out 3 in 3 innings of work in his first start outside of Arizona. RHP Cristhian Perez also gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief, while LHP Mike Fagan pitched a perfect 7th, RHP Blake McMullen tossed a scoreless 8th, and RHP Koby Gauna got the final three outs in the 9th for his 6th save. Left fielder Max Kuhn collected 3 hits, including 2 doubles, while first baseman John Nogowski and second baseman Trent Gilbert each singled in a run, and shortstop Yairo Munoz and outfielder Brett Vertigan had a pair of hits apiece.

RHP Tanner Peters, who’s missed most of the season with shoulder issues, made his way back to the mound and allowed 2 hits in 1 scoreless inning of work to start the game on Wednesday. LHP Victor Veliz gave up 1 run in 4 innings of relief to earn the win, while RHP Jesus Rivas tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his 4th save. Shortstop Jesus Lopez singled, doubled, walked and drove in a run, while outfielder Rodolfo Penalo had a pair of hits, walked, stole a base, drove in a run and scored 3 times, and catcher Argenis Raga and outfielder Vicmal De La Cruz both doubled in a run for the A’s.
