Center fielder Billy Burns went 0 for 4 and struck out twice in his fifth game for the Cats, while shortstop Andy Parrino and first baseman Anthony Aliotti struck out 3 times apiece in the loss. Last week’s Texas League Player of the Week Kent Matthes continued his hot hitting on Tuesday. Matthes homered in his second straight game and also singled, walked, stole a base and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. Designated hitter Conner Crumbliss had 2 doubles and drove in a run, while first baseman Max Muncy and outfielder Kenny Wilson had a pair of hits apiece for the Hounds. Starter Sean Murphy allowed 3 runs in just 3 innings of work to take his 3rd loss, while RHP Murphy Smith allowed 1 run in 4 innings of relief for the RockHounds.
