First baseman Ryon Healy did all the damage Stockton would need in the 1st inning on Wednesday night. With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 1st, Healy stepped to the plate and slugged a grand slam to give Stockton an edge that Inland Empire would never erase. Outfielder Zeke DeVoss singled in another run in the 2nd, while third baseman Renato Nunez had a pair of hits for the Ports. Starter Jake Sanchez did a good job for Stockton, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, and striking out 7 over 7 innings to earn his 6th win, while LHP Chris Lamb tossed a scoreless 8th and RHP Austin House pitched a perfect 9th for his 14th save. Meanwhile, RHP Seth Streich, who was pulled from Tuesday night’s game in the 1st inning with an apparent injury, will skip his next start while he undergoes further examination on his right shoulder.

RHP Arnold Leon delivered a strong start for Sacramento, allowing 2 runs while striking out 5 over 6 1/3 innings to earn his 10th win on Wednesday to tie him for the league lead. Designated hitter Nate Freiman had 3 hits and drove in a run, while shortstop Jake Elmore and right fielder Anthony Aliotti each collected 2 doubles, and center fielder Nick Buss singled in a pair of runs for the River Cats.

Starter Sean Murphy had a solid outing for Midland, allowing 3 runs and striking out 8 over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Wednesday. RHP Ryan Doolittle tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief for the RockHounds. Unfortunately, the Hounds managed just 1 hit on the night, which came courtesy of shortstop Dusty Coleman, while outfielder Kent Matthes and third baseman Jefry Marte each walked and stole a base in the loss.

Starter Junior Mendez allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 6 innings of work on Wednesday, while RHP Joel Seddon tossed 2 scoreless innings to earn his 2nd win for the Snappers. Outfielder Tyler Marincov singled, doubled and drove in a run, while designated hitter Philip Pohl had a pair of hits and drove in a run in the loss.

Outfielder J.P. Sportman had a big night for Vermont, collecting 3 hits, including a home run as well as the decisive single in the bottom of the 9th, while driving in 4 runs for the Lake Monsters. 3rd-round draft pick Brett Graves allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits over 2 2/3 innings, while RHPs Jon Massad, Daniel Gossett and Lee Sosa each tossed 2 scoreless innings, with Sosa picking up his 2nd win in relief.
