With Beloit down by a run in the top of the 8th, outfielder Tyler Marincov smacked a 2-run homer to deliver the winning run for the Snappers. Marincov walked with the bases loaded to bring home another run in Beloit’s 4-run 9th. Designated hitter Ryan Matthews also slugged a 2-run shot in the 9th, while catcher Philip Pohl, third baseman Luis Baez and outfielder B.J. Boyd had a pair of hits apiece. Starter Matt Stalcup was solid, allowing just 1 run over 5 innings of work, while RHP Joe Michaud tossed 4 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 2nd win for the Snappers.

RHP Matt Buschmann had a rough start for the River Cats on Wednesday, allowing 10 runs over 5 1/3 innings to take his 5th loss, while RHP Tucker Healy surrendered another 4 runs in relief. Second baseman Jake Elmore had 3 hits and drove in a pair of runs, while designated hitter Josh Whitaker and outfielders Shane Peterson and Nick Buss had a pair of hits apiece for Sacramento.

RHP Shawn Haviland had a solid start for the RockHounds on Wednesday, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 5 2/3 innings, while RHP Ryan Dull gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th to take the loss. Outfielder Kent Matthes doubled and walked, while shortstop Dusty Coleman and first baseman Max Muncy had a pair of hits apiece and each swiped a base, and catcher Bruce Maxwell went 0 for 5 but drove in a run and scored in his RockHounds debut. With Maxwell’s arrival, catcher Beau Taylor was reassigned to Stockton.

Starter Jerad Grundy picked up his 1st win for the Lake Monsters despite allowing 5 runs in 5 innings of work on Wednesday, while RHP Dominique Vattuone tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief to earn his 1st save. First baseman John Nogowski collected 4 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while outfielder Scott Masik had 3 hits, drove in a run and stole a base, and catcher Seongmin Kim and outfielder Ben McQuown drove in a pair of runs apiece for the Lake Monsters. Meanwhile, catcher Andy Paz was reassigned from Vermont to the AZL A’s.

Starter Dillon Overton allowed 1 run and struck out 4 in 3 innings of work on Wednesday, and he’s now allowed just 4 earned runs and struck out 28 over 19 innings in his return from Tommy John surgery. RHP Carlos Navas gave up 6 runs, just 1 earned, in 2 innings of relief, while RHP Jesus Rivas surrendered 6 runs, 5 earned, over 1 2/3 frames, and RHP Phillip Ortiz allowed 3 runs in 1 1/3 innings for the A’s. First baseman Michael Soto had 2 hits and drove in a pair, while outfielder Vicmal De La Cruz doubled and scored, and shortstop Jesus Lopez singled, walked twice, stole a base and drove in a run in the loss.
