RHP Seth Streich turned in another strong start for Stockton, allowing just 5 baserunners over 5 scoreless innings to earn his 5th win on Wednesday. The Ports put 10 runs on the board to support Streich. Outfielder Bobby Crocker cracked a pair of home runs and drove in 3, while third baseman Ryon Healy singled, doubled and hit a 2-run homer, and outfielder Billy McKinney slugged his 7th home run for Stockton.

Starter Marcus Walden had a solid outing for Sacramento, allowing 2 runs over 6 innings of work on Wednesday, but RHP Philip Humber gave up the tying run in the 8th, and RHP Jeremy McBryde surrendered the winning run in the 10th to take the loss. First baseman Nate Freiman hit a 2-run homer in the 1st, while shortstop Andy Parrino singled, doubled and drove in a run, and third baseman Alden Carrithers tripled for the second straight night for Sacramento.

Starter Shawn Haviland shut out Springfield for 7 innings and ended up allowing 3 runs on just 4 hits over 7 2/3 innings to earn his 2nd win on Wednesday. Outfielder Josh Whitaker collected 4 hits, including a double, and drove in 3 runs, while shortstop Dusty Coleman singled and slugged a 2-run homer. Outfielder Chad Oberacker had 3 hits, including a triple, and scored twice, and outfielder Billy Burns singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, top prospect Addison Russell returned to action in an extended spring training game in Arizona on Wednesday. Russell played 4 innings at shortstop and had 2 at-bats. It was his first action on the field in almost 8 weeks since he tore his right hamstring in his second game of the season. The A’s don’t plan on offering any further updates on Russell’s progress until he’s ready to be activated and return to competitive play.

RHP Bobby Wahl had another shaky start for the Snappers on Wednesday, allowing 7 runs, 5 earned, on 9 hits over 4 1/3 innings to take his 4th loss and raise his ERA to 7.01. RHPs Stuart Pudenz and Tyler Vail each allowed a run in relief. Designated hitter Jaycob Brugman had a big day at the plate for Beloit, belting a pair of home runs and driving in all 5 of the Snappers’ runs in the game. In other news, Beloit lost one of its best starters on Wednesday when it was announced that RHP Ronald Herrera was sent to San Diego as the player to be named in the Kyle Blanks trade. The 19-year-old Venezuelan had a 3.38 ERA in his 9 starts for the Snappers this season.
