Pitcher Ronald Herrera
(6 IP / 7 H / 2 ER / 2 BB / 0 K)

In Other News…
The River Cats announced that veteran RHP Joe Blanton has decided to leave the team and retire. That opens up a spot in Sacramento’s starting rotation behind RHPs Arnold Leon, Josh Lindblom, Matt Buschmann and Sean Murphy. RockHounds RHP Zach Neal would have to be considered the most likely choice to get the promotion, unless the A’s really wanted to be aggressive with 21-year-old RHP Raul Alcantara. The A’s also have acquired minor league catcher Blake Forsythe from the Mets for future considerations. And with Sacramento catcher Stephen Vogt and Midland catcher Ryan Lipkin both on the disabled list at the moment, Forsythe could fill in behind either Ryan Ortiz with the River Cats or Beau Taylor with the RockHounds. Drafted in the 3rd round in 2010, Forsythe hit .192/.271/.362 last season for the Mets’ Double-A affiliate at Binghamton.
